Agreed, it's like which of the n-voice emus can sound the thinnest. Maybe you just need to use all of them at the same time. Also, too many knobs.

That would be Arturia's for me. Every time I try to use it, it sounds pathetic next to oberhausen. Same goes for Cherry's 8 Voice, it's very thin and harsh next to oberhausen. I can't wait to try this alongside oberhausen when I get home from work but I can't see it even holding its own. The extra oscillator will give it an advantage in mono but that advantage will quickly evaporate when I start stacking unison voices. The Huge Swells preset in bx_oberhausen is my go-to for hugeness and no other Oberheim emulation can touch it.

No, the way you worded it makes it sound very much like an expectation, if not a demand. OK, that was not your intention, and it did seem out of character for what I know of you, but it's definitely how it came across. Don't sweat it, you've explained that you didn't mean it that way and I'm sure everyone accepts that. If they don't, that's their problem, don't make it yours.

Yeah alright…I can see how my original comment reads as entitlement. Predicting how my words will come across has never been my strong suit.

Upon further reflection, GForce did give us OB-E v2.0 for free (with the vintage knob, new presets, and lots of other improvements), which was quite generous. I also overlooked that the new SEM plugin has its own set of new presets as well. If I can ever get the GForce site to load and actually let me log into my account, I'll probably pony up for it.

Can you be so kind and check if OB-E UI is blurry not only for me?
I think I'll be getting the SEM cause it's UI is absolutely sharp

Finally got through just now. The site was loading earlier, but I couldn't get to the actual login page.

Bought it. The arpeggiator is actually kinda cool. I like the "sequence" mode (which uses the step sequencer as the arp pattern) and always appreciate a swing knob.

I'll stop moaning now.

Yeah, I literally got to spend three minutes with it this morning before I had to go to work. I got to the first decent ARP patch, discovered how different it sounds with different velocity, which set off all kinds of ideas, then I had to shut the laptop down and run for the bus. It's so damned frustrating!

Does anyone of you who bought SEM see it in the instruments list in you GForce Account?
I see it in my orders list, but not among my instruments. It works, of course, by installing the demo from the product page and activate it with the key that shows up in the order entry but I'd prefer the same behaviour across my bought plugins...

I'm very impressed by this so it was an insta buy for me. As far as I'm concerned this blows away PAs and Arturia's versions.

I bought it from a reseller and registered it at GF and it shows up among my instruments.

Seems like something they'd do. Dave Spiers said in the video they hope the SEM will be a "gateway drug" to OB-E.
