Yeah I do feel stupid with a lot of this stuff sometimes. Symptohm and Quadfrohmage completely baffled me after I bought them. I figure I should be smart enough though. Damn I have a Ph.D. and six years of Postdoctoral training in Academic Life Sciences so I do know how to solve a problem or two. So it must just be age catching up with me.

nope - not really - it's more what you're used to :-)

(and the longer you are used to something the harder it gets to break these conventions ;-) )

But what is buzz. I can't even tell. Is it instruments, effect, host or all of the above. The site is a maze.

I didn't read the other pages, so please forgive me if this has been answered or is no help to you
In orion you can hybridize patches and I think you can do something like this in studio.
KVR, my adult playground.

Buzz is similar to Psycle

buzz is a host for its own machines (synths, samplers, fx, mixing stuff, lil programing languages) and vst(i) & fx aswell for dx with polacs latest vsti loader.
yop it´s the same guy who wrote the chainer application, who did the buzz vst loader :)

might be a bit unhandy for composing a whole song thru the tracker interface if one is used to traditional score based composing, but for weird loop-creation it´s the best deal one can get for free.
and as mentioned it can randomize vst presets, morph etc. but the real fun is the modular routing, might appeal to people who are interested in pure data or max/msp like soundtrickery. albeit with some bigger building blocks as modules.

OK Thanks. I sure isn't my kind of thing then.

And thanks Mighty Hero. Tried Orion twice and gave up twice. I started with Fruity and it makes sense to me. eXT is begining to make sense to me slowly. Orion is too different and is frankly not as stable.
