but rather for distorting the f**k out of loops and such..it would be useful for this too yes?
Of course! Although keep in mind that you can do that in ST2 as well and you have AT modeling as components. But, if you want some good amps to run as a plug-in on OTHER synths and audio tracks then AT LE is almost a must (or the full version). I feel this way only because I like it's thick and powerful vintage sound which is good for crunching up loops but keeps it harmonically pleasing (like analog distortion does).

Oh, I forgot to mention another cool thing about this brand new version (that is shipping now incidentally). You can hook up a foot controller for volume and wah! I think you can use a variety of different ones to do that. I haven't done it yet myself but I am looking forward to it the next chance I get. This is a sweet little package for $79!
I love a product that can be used quick and easy for fun but then you can totally take seriouslky and use it for real professional performances too. The pod was kind of like that. But, this sounds a lot better than the pod to me.

Sure guys. Rock on! You'll love this. It's also a good stepping stone to see if you like amp modeling in general or specifically AT (in case you want to upgrade later).Sicklecell666 wrote:I'm in.

At the very least, if you want great distortion on WHATEVER or especially if you do at least play a little bit of guitar then this becomes that go to piece for everything from messing around to writing to even performing with a laptop or something -especially where you want an amp sound but want to have full control of the levels such as in a coffee house gig or playing in your apartment late at night etc.

Hey John. I think these prices will be good for a while. No sweat. At least until the end of the year. But, the sooner you get it the sooner you can have fun with it.

I like having it on my PC in stand alone. You just double click it and then plug your guitar in and go. I carry my laptop everywhere I go and since you can find a decent electric guitar almost anywhere you go where there are other musicians there's something fun to do.
I have to tell you. When I was on the plane I was making some really cool sounds and writing music with Sonik Synth 2. I wasn't breaking out the electric guitar (although it would have been cool because I had all three seats on one of the flights). It made me think of when I tried to have these portable devices to make music on the go. I had a QY20 and a little Zoom walkman thing for guitar. It sounded like poo. I mean, it was better than nothing but you couldn't actually USE anything you created with it. But, if you are using ST2 or SS2 and AT or AT Live/LE on a laptop you really could absolutely keep the sounds or tracks you make!
It's weird to be working on album quality music on the plane or in the airport. Kind of cool actually.

Now,
In Guitar Player mag, it says 1,200 combinations with Amplitube Live. Is that correct? I know LE has fewer, but isn't Live just the full Amplitube except as a standalone and not a plug-in?
The creative thinkers could find a way to work that to their advantage....
OR, is the magazine ad incorrect and the Live version is the same as the LE?

If the 79$ is till the end of the year I'm in as well.
Now what would be really sweet is if it could read other ampt. presets, but I am thinking it won't be able to

I think it was Dimitar who said no way to that. I can see why that is the case but what a bummer.Mighty_Hero wrote:Now what would be really sweet is if it could read other ampt. presets, but I am thinking it won't be able to
