Adding macro controls and user guis doesn’t change that .
Magnus is a top developer delivering top notch products but they all remain stuck in version 1.0.
Funny you say it is dead since 2011 because I started using it three years ago (2019) and I use it all the time. Its in all my tracks. I wish had known about it in 2011. 😉

And Patternarium is amazing, I never seen anything like it.
With death I mean any significant updates , the last major one was 2011 , the release of Microtonic 3 which added a morph feature and all sequencer lanes at once :tu:
Microtonic 1 was released in 2004 (without an osc attack stage ) , and it was an instant hit :tu:
In 2005 , magnus added an osc. attack stage
2011..above
And that's pretty much the history off tonic updates ,the macro controls is just scripting stuff , no changes to the audio side whatsoever

i'm not sure i want updates to the sound side. I like how it sounds :) I'm flabergasted at how many useful sounds you can make from a fairly simple and primitive interface.

I'd love if the machine learning script they used for VintageTonic was made public tho - i'd love to toy around with that.

As long as its updated and brought up to speed so i can KEEP using it on new DAWs and machines i'll be happy honestly.

I still use it more than any other drum synth I have.

Same here , I like the sound so much I made improved versions both for reaktor and supercollider, but I mean feature updates to the sound-seq engine.
-dist curves
-polymeter
-Partial osc with inharmonic tuning , this opens up a whole new world for acoustic drum models etc.
But yeah , It's magnus baby he does whatever he feels like .
Funny fact , these are actually microtonic ..

Yeah, I couldn't resist emailing Sean Booth when I first heard that track. He confirmed that it was MicroTonic indeed. It is also used on the track after that, "Rew(1)". He was very enthusiastic about my plugs, but they were not actually using any VSTs or AUs for their latest work. Just Max stuff.

Being a big time Autechre fan I was pretty stoked about this all.

I would love to see at least one more separate mute group, a "link group", and maybe a separate build with 16 tracks/ sounds so that all 16 channels could be used with pitched midi.
I can dig some of the stuff that folks are saying about the sequencing, but i hardly ever use any VSTi's onboard sequencing (especially for drums). If i was more into pattern based x0x style drum programming then I would enjoy lots of the things folks on here are asking for.

I’m glad to see I shaked this thread but nobody answered my question. Is it muting tracks really impossible to record using some toggle method?

As someone who uses this almost daily, I’d love to see two more stereo output groups: A,B,C & D.

he has also worked with teenage engineering to produce the hardware PO-32 tonic and added support to microTonic to transfer sounds to the hardware.

i own everything sonic charge makes. absolutely love all of it. perhaps my favorite developer.

Which midi controller do you have? On my Launchkey Mk3 I can set the pads to toggle midi notes. I just tried it with Microtonic and it works to toggle mutes.
