Doubt sound equipment

Good, you will see I have normal 2.1 speakers from Philips with 28w, the truth is that they can be heard quite well at a normal level of about 85db. With them I do production, equalization, etc... And my music sounds pretty good on any equipment, I also use the PC to play games, etc...
I had thought about improving it with the Logitech Z625 2.1 and, incidentally, putting a sound card to take advantage of the fiber optic connections to the PC and the TV to watch movies and others.
The sound card would be a Sound BlasterX AE-5 Plus output 32-bit / 384 kHz is a gaming card.
I think I would be the first to put together something like this to produce music, but being electronic, I think it could be worth it and improve what I have, right?
Or would it be better to put some monitors and a sound card exclusively for music?
I would like to know opinions.
