@cyberheater:
I was able to reproduce a crash. It only appears occasionally and seems to be limited to the M1 AudioUnit version on Mac when specific patches are loaded.
I have already taken care of it and will upload an update tomorrow.

Markus the AU still not showing up in Ableton. For what its worth I opened up a ticket with Ableton noting that the AU isn't being found and shows up fine in other hosts (like Logic, GarageBand, MainStage).

I swear to god you must have been dropped on your head too many times as a child or something. Sell your shit somewhere else BONES, I'm not interested in buying.BONES wrote: Sun Jul 17, 2022 11:32 amWhy should this be Markus's problem, when it only exists because Apple treat everyone like dirt? If you want to complain, complain to Apple that they have done this shit to you and Markus and everyone else. Because, honestly, the fact that you put up with Apple's bullshit makes me believe that you just have to be a moron because no normal person would put up with being treated like that. Or, better still, blame yourself for backing the wrong horse and fix the problem by ending your clearly abusive relationship with a company that treats everyone like shit.rezoneight wrote: Fri Jul 15, 2022 2:56 pmMarkus as a customer I don't care about whatever issues you have with Apple. What I do want is a native version of my plugins now that we are 2+ years into the Apple Silicon transition.
I think it's great that Markus speaks up about it, it's the only way that anything wil ever change.

@rezoneight:
It's an issue of Ableton and affects also other plugins.
In general you always should prefer the VST version if your (cross-platform) DAW supports several plugin formats. They are more reliable.

I didn't say VST3 was limited to PC. This thread and discussion is about Saurus and 3.2 does not currently have a VST3 version on Mac. Referencing your post in the CLAP thread about spending a year on VST3 support.

I only use AUs unless there is a reason not to like in this case. I don't expect anything to come from opening the ticket but one can hope.Markus Krause wrote: Sun Jul 17, 2022 5:09 pm @rezoneight:

AUs are not cross-platform, mostly use adapters and are less reliable (I will not discuss this here further as it is off-topic).
If you use VST and should decide to migrate to PC one day than you can load your Mac projects.
Anyway it's your own decision.

Understood. Have never had reliability issues with any AU I use on a regular basis. I have absolutely no plans to ever move to a Windows PC unless Apple goes out of business which at this point ain't bloody likelyMarkus Krause wrote: Sun Jul 17, 2022 5:23 pm AUs are not cross-platform, mostly use adapters and are less reliable (I will not discuss this here further as it is off-topic).

OK, so it's alright for you to blame a one-man developer operation for taking his time to do something he doesn't have to do for any other platform, ever, and to cirticise him for not being happy about having to do it, but if I dare to suggest that perhaps Markus has some justifcation, that indicates that I have a problem. Right, Apple are perfect, beyond any criticism, and the rest of the world must buckle under and do as Apple tells them, all the while praising them for their generosity in allowing us the opportunity to be f**ked around for no-one's benefit other than their shareholders. We should all be happy that Markus has pretty much had to pause all development for a full year, should we? What a strange world you live in.rezoneight wrote: Sun Jul 17, 2022 5:06 pmI swear to god you must have been dropped on your head too many times as a child or something. Saurus 3.3 (free update)
The update is available for free for all Saurus users. It adds a VST3 and a standalone version for Mac and includes some fixes.
New features:
- Added a VST3 version for Mac (M1 native and Intel).
- Added a standalone version for Mac (M1 native and Intel).
Fixes:
- The VST3 version on PC did not properly list all parameters.
- The AU version of Saurus 3.2 running in M1 mode could occasionally crash.
Notes:
It is a well-known fact that Steinberg's VST3 format does not offer proper Midi support. That's why it was techically necessary to limit the VST3 version on receiving Midi-learn only on channel 0.
We recommend to use the VST2 version if your DAW supports several plugin formats.

Thanks Markus! Just one question: I'm not familiar with MIDI channel 0. Can you please tell me where to find this?Markus Krause wrote: Mon Jul 18, 2022 5:03 pm

Very nice. Markus does the standalone Mac version mean standalone versions of your other instruments coming in the future for the Mac? Very handy as its nice sometimes to just load something up and play so the standalone mode for Saurus is fantastic.Markus Krause wrote: Mon Jul 18, 2022 5:03 pm Saurus 3.3 (free update)
