It is really a great synth! I have two other emulations but this one is different. Well, couldn't resist! So bought it from here (KVR Market) as I have additional $3 from a previous buy. So, in the end it costs me about $59 NZD which is a good price
Although the bx_oberhausen is really good and sounds huge! But it consumes a lot of CPU for those huge sounds. Arturia SEM V2 is a nice one with its advanced panel, however the GForce SEM has more details in the sound than the Arturia's.
I think the same style of this synth and sound is the miniKorg. Both have really nice character and could add unique feelings to the music. I don't mind it is monophonic as this can be used for bass and lead which are in the centre of the mix. I'm looking to use it a lot as its interface, sound and cpu usage are very impressive

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Really a gorgeous and sonor sounding synth overall; lacks a bit of the typical Oberheim punch in the lower end. Most definitely benefits from some extra 'light' saturation; the Arturia OPAMP-21 in particular worked surprisingly well.

Does anyone know, if SEM uses the exact same ZDF - Filters as OB-E?

It's identical to OB-E, just a single voice instead of 8. It will behave and sound identical to a single voice from the OB-E.El°HYM wrote: Mon Jul 18, 2022 3:07 pm Does anyone know, if SEM uses the exact same ZDF - Filters as OB-E?

As has been pointed out elsewhere, this type of reaction is really common -- that VST emulations lack 'in the low end' compared to the hardware they are emulating.
But what does it mean, specifically? That the hardware creates frequencies the VST doesn't? Or that the hardware simply accentuates certain low-end frequencies more than the VST does? Or...? Both seem like things the software *could* do...so, I wonder. What advantage (if any) would hardware have at 'not lacking low end' that software, well, lacks?

The filter sounds very good indeed. It is somehow not stated on their Site. Just the OB-E gets adverted as ZDF - Filters, while the SEM says nothing about it. So thanks for the kind Input.

It’s the filter saturating/clipping. Really easy to hear in the Waldorf Pulse, M, and Microwave 1, you can raise the oscillators to the point where there’s audible distortion and then back off to just below that, that’s where the low-end has the most punch.mholloway wrote: Mon Jul 18, 2022 4:20 pm As has been pointed out elsewhere, this type of reaction is really common -- that VST emulations lack 'in the low end' compared to the hardware they are emulating.

Here it is , if you have Loomer Architect, just load this file
The file has everythig set up , 4 instances of gforce sem , incoming midi allocated to each instance , well do you need to have the Gforce plugin:)
One gui to control all voices , I got rid of the idea of creating additional guis for the other 3 voices , because you can easily tweak the original vst's .
Just remember, changes made to the gui affect all voices .
Oh yeah , the gui controls the vst parameters directly ( range 0-1) with 0.0001 resolution , hold shift for fine control , the attack and decay stages are cubed , meaning longer travel in the beginning , just like on the plugin.
Convert the txt file to .xml
It sounds pretty damn huge !!

I don’t have Architect but just wondered if anyone knows if there is a way to split/allocated midi notes across different tracks in Ableton Live. Some form of M4L midi filtering device maybe, or something in a device chain? Would be interesting to split the notes of a chord across different synth and or samples not just multiple instances of the same synth.

Does this let you have any kind of offsets are slight variation in the 4 VSTs behind the scenes? Like if you open them and tweak them, will tweaking this new panel jump the values. On other words, it just makes it polyphonic right?gentleclockdivider wrote: Thu Jul 21, 2022 10:22 pm Here it is , if you have Loomer Architect, just load this file

1 master gui to control all voices , with the option to turn this off + 3 additional guis ( for the remaining voices) for further tweaking offsetting voices .
I abandoned the idea because it’s a lot of work .
So as it is now , this gui controls all voices , for offsetting the remaining sems you need to tweak the gforce plugins ( which are hosted in architect) , but as soon as you tweak the architect gui again, changes made on the gforce gui are overriden.
Perhaps I might do it in the future , we’ll see, I probably will
Atm I am having too much fun , it sounds huge !

Does architect allow you to inject some randomization or offset? Then you can simply add a randomization or offset amount knob.
Now you just need to make the panel white so it looks like an SEM. j/k
