But it looks like they all detect as you play...they don't detect on something already recorded, esp a commercial tune imported into a DAW. I thought I had one at one point but can't find. Anyone?

I use zplane Decoda. It is pretty cheap, I got it on sale for about $30 IIRC. It only detects major and minor chords, but does a decent job. It has great features
