Crossgrade was $49 a year ago and included the Spectrum 4-part preset pack.
This was a really special deal and it might happen only once in between V Collection releases, that too when a new V Collection release is around the corner. So, I would expect it again around next Black Friday assuming V Collection 10 is released in December 2023. :)

EDIT: Sorry, I messed it up a bit here. While the $49 crossgrade for Pigments is certainly a rarity, the above sale was actually the reverse, where Pigments owners got a crossgrade offer of $149 for V Collection 8, a couple of months before V Collection 9 came out in May 2022.

By the way, just opened Arturia Software Center and seeing updates available for VC9 and Pigments. Looks like a minor update, mainly fixes.

I spend more time updating Arturia plugins than I do using Arturia plugins.

(This is a dig at me, not Arturia... I need to stop playing Forza Horizon and get back to making music sometime)

I knew the Prophet V3 had been split into two instruments, the V5 and the VS, but I’ve only just realised they are two full price instruments when you used to get two in one. To upgrade will cost me €49 each when I might have expected a combined upgrade price. Sneaky :hihi:

I really like the new Prophet VS. It's worth the upgrade.

Hi,

What are your opinions about the Arturia Korg MS20 V ?

It is on discount at $99. reg. $199. Still kind of pricey, but is it worth getting. I know I can demo it, but for those who have it, how happy are you with it, and would you recommend it ?

I'm mostly thinking of using it for Leads, and Basses, but if it can do other sounds well, I will experiment with using it's polyphonic capabilities.

Thanks.

The only thing I need from Arturia is Jun-6 Chorus FX now, which is on sale for $49 right now, I might get it.
Arturia gave away the Chorus Jun-6 as a freebie a while back.

You might want to check the KVR Sell & Buy forum for that one.

Such as this listing for $10. viewtopic.php?p=8465132&hilit=chorus+jun+6#p8465132
I missed it...
Buying it from KVR is not an option for me, because PayPal or similar services are not available in the country I'm in. And bank transfer is costly.

Tal Chorus is free and sounds pretty good.

Yes, and there's also this chorus for free: https://kilohearts.com/products/chorus

And while you are at it, you can grab 30 of the Kilohearts FX for free in their Essentials collection:

Windows 10 and too many plugins

It's fine. I have a real MS-20 and while they aren't exact (and my 20 isn't exact to others I've heard) it sounds well enough, and I like the new features like PWM, oscillator sync and the extra CV patch points. The oscillators have a nice bassy weight to them I don't get with my hardware, and the keyboard on the hardware isn't the greatest so this is a step up.

It really doesn't want to be a polyphonic instrument because it chews up CPU though, and it will give a warning the first time you try it.

I got a reply from Arturia saying ask the reseller if they can upgrade it to VC9 for free and I asked them. They said it's not possible to upgrade for free as the Keylab 88 MK2 is bundled with VC8 but they offered me $90 to upgrade to VC9 if I want to. It feels like a bargain I don't think Arturia will go as low as that, what do you think? Should I upgrade?

I tried it but it does not sound as good as JUN-6 Chorus. Mode 2 on that sounds incredible.

Indeed. The best upgrade deal you would otherwise get is $99 around Black Friday next year.

I went ahead and bought it, thanks everyone!

By the way, I am selling the extra Piano V3 that I got from Keylab, since I own VC9 now I do not need that individual license anymore. The price is 50 USD, let me know if you're interested.

Edit: Now that I look into my account I can see licenses for both VC8 and VC9... Is this normal? Because right now it seems like VC8 is not upgraded to VC9, I have them both instead. (So, I can sell VC8 if I want to?) What is going on?

Another Edit: Called the reseller to ask what's going on but they said Arturia handled the case themselves, if they did it this way, it's how they see it appropriate, so no problem here.

I'm shocked.
