Anyway, I get worried about the economic situation. But my friend once told me that the best innovations occur during those times. So let's hope we all survive so we can later thrive. Let's hope the shitty economy doesn't swallow us up especially those who we rely on so much for our gear

And I just want to know what problems there may be with something I rely quite heavily on. Is it really so hard for you to be helpful?

These are only my thoughts and opinions, most synths are based on traditional western piano, unlike string instruments like the electric bass/or guitar.
Seeing a modeler showing the fingering on a fretboard is big help for me with composing (Shreddage, SSG7V and MODO Bass) because It can give me the option of emulate it on the real instrument if I want to.
That's why I switched out Ujam's guitar romplers because they are built for keyboardists to get a limited "Guitar like" sound without leaving the piano keyboard it's not what I want.

Shreddage isn't a modeler. Sorry. It's sample based and while it is highly realistic it doesn't offer as much flexibility as a modeler. That said anything from the Shreddage line is going to be very good.

Nobody mentioned Strum GS2 or Wedgeforce. Both are modeled. I wonder if AAS Strum is that bad. It is on sale now, so I am asking seriously

Do you mean WedgeForce? If so, it's one of the worst, at least it was when I tried it. Maybe it's been improved since.ReverendLove wrote: Fri Jul 22, 2022 8:28 am Nobody mentioned Strum GS2 or Wedhefoorce. Both are modeled. I wonder if AAS Strum is that bad. Strum - I think the clue is in the name. It's no good if you want to sound like Hank Marvin. Or Rory Gallagher.

I still like Musiclab's Real Guitars. Their strumming engine is still the best IMO. Version 6 will be releasesd at the end of July and this time guitar effects are included.

Anyone know of the cheapest place to purchase Real Guitar 5? Cheapest I found was on SW for $150.
I'm highly likely going to buy Real Guitar 6, and the upgrade from 5 is free so think it would be worth picking it up asap.

Have you tried Vital?

Good advice, I just know it can be hit or miss however it will also allow time to see if RG6 is worth it (I'm pretty sure it's going to be great though, been a long time coming...).Googly Smythe wrote: Wed Jul 27, 2022 5:50 pmIf you can, wait a couple of months for Black Friday.Psuper wrote: Wed Jul 27, 2022 4:31 pm Anyone know of the cheapest place to purchase Real Guitar 5? I'm guessing here, so I apologise if I'm getting it wrong...Smasha wrote: Fri Aug 12, 2022 11:00 pm What eq to use to make Real Strat less metallic and cold sounding?
I think what you can hear is actually the "natural" sound of single-coil pickups, that twang, which is what most people want in a strat. The best way to avoid it is to use guitars with twin-coil pickups. However...
In no particular order:
Try using a low pass filter before the amp sim (I assume you're using one).
Roll off the treble and presence on the amp sim, boost the middle, a little.
Don't go overboard with the gain.
Don't use the bridge pickup.
Try using an overdrive (not distortion!) pedal before a clean amp.
I tend to use Plugin Alliance amp sims (modelled by Nembrini) which have built in low/high pass filters.
For the record, although some of my favourite guitarists use strats as their main instrument (Gilmour, Beck, Marvin, Hendrix, Gallagher) I mostly use Les Pauls. I only use Strats for clean sounds, and nearly always with a Leslie speaker sim.
As always, ymmv.
