My submission for this month:

https://soundcloud.com/feeding-cone/the ... hallenge-1

I tried to keep it short, promise. There are many songs for people to evaluate in this competition with undoubtably a lot of skipping-through. Markers for easier evaluation:

0:13 Breakbeat/Rock instrumentation
1:12 Techno/909 section
2:20 Chiptune deviation
3:40 Electro/808 section
5:09 Folky acoustic string ensemble

----

83 instances of Synth1. Only freeware and FL Studio native effects:

- JB Red Phatt Pro
- GClip
- GGate
- Kjaerhus Classic Reverb
- Kjaerhus Classic Compressor
- CamelPhatFree (mostly for compression and subtle saturation)
- ES Spatialverb
- voice of snow
- Xhip Multiplier (inched-in as a subtle exciter)
- ArcDev ET-200
- Transient
- Pianoverb
---
- Fruity parametric EQ 2
- Fruity Delay 3
- Fruity Waveshaper (for super soft overdrive and in one case a finishing bit-crusher on the chiptune portion's bus; the audible bit-crushing is largely from Synth1's decimator)

I have good monitors but poor acoustics, no headphones and a motorbike instead of a car. Not really happy with the production and I have no clue what the bass really sounds like but I've got to walk away from this track. Blah blah blah excuses excuses :borg:

I played-through Fallout: New Vegas this month, often alternating between exploring The Wasteland and producing this song. In F:NV the player-character is a courier tasked with bringing many different things concrete and otherwise to very different places with widely varying environments. Similarly this song's different packages are delivered to you with only brief transition. The Courier.

Sorry to hear that.

If they did that would be unethical, so let's hope no one here is like that. Nobody should be skipping through songs.

I don't blame people when it comes time for voting and they skip a little running through them all in a row. While the submissions roll in I doubt there's much skipping.

So here is my submission,

https://soundcloud.com/impedancemusic/space-cat

as the song title suggest it´s some kind of early 80s sci-fi space synthwave with all the clichés imaginable: Over the top sound effects, bad FM-sounds and the obnoxious octave synth bass. And I made the end part into Eurobeat. Does it work? No. But was it fun to make? Yes. (and I wanted to try it) :P

I can still remember finding Synth1 on some website, about 5-ish? years ago. It was the first synth I learned analog subtractive synthesis on and how to do some basic sounds. I still use this 12 year old VST to this day!

Since I was forced to go on vacation, I sadly have to upload a compressed MP3 file to Soundcloud. The Internet here is terrible. As is my setup: The headphone jack on my notebook is (and always was) a bit “special”, so every now and then the cable of my headphones came out and everyone surrounding me could “enjoy” my music. They all drove home the same day.

Once I´m home (probably 2nd of August) I will provide a high quality WAV file via Google Drive. Also I will share my OSC Presets.

You've made a really fun song with strong melodies - as always. Great to hear such joy in the music and the manufacture.

Audio is not supposed to leave the machine it was produced on, if I remember the rules ... ie you can't compose on one machine and mix/master on another ... I think ...

Not sure why this rules exists ...

They're going to listen all the way through when it was submitted and then just skip around some when voting a week or two later?
Is that what you do?

Thank you very much - I can assure it happened all by mistake and not by competency :hihi:

To make a long Story short - I don't go on vacation in summer anymore, since I don't really like the summer, but I made a exception this time since my parents had to drive a long distance and I thought a second driver would be a good idea. At least now i have the opportunity to listen to chocolate by Soul Control at 4am in the morning while i'm trying to sleep. :help: :hihi:

I believe because it makes it much harder to verify. It's a good rule imo

Rarely, but I'm afraid we live in a dark world where people would do such a thing.

i know and i wouldn't have done it this way if there would have been a way for me to install this plugin onto my actual system. i even asked here for help but it didn't succeed/there was no answer. to take part in this month's challenge, i decided to reactivate my old setup which gave me a hard time due to the old dual core processor and the limited power (can be heard). without reading back the book of rules i think i can remember that bouncing is allowed if the system is to weak to perform properly. the mixing and mastering on my actual machine didn't alter the original sound to the unrecognisable extend mentioned in the rules.

i leave it to the admins of this month's challenge wether or not i will be dq'ed this time and accept whatever happens, and i hope everybody else is fine with it as well.
