NA2 seems fine. had to tweak the prefs a bit and change permissions for the application folder access.

the 3rd party serial numbers/installs don't show up but do still work. the toybox blocks, michael hentrik blocks and the blinksonic reaktor ensembles i have don't show up.. they do work though. no issues there. but i guess NI did something to that part of the application so it doesn't find them or whatever.

How are you supposed to re-registers these libraries in your system should you have to re-install given that NA2 is not able to show them...?

I wouldn't be very relaxed in perspective...

part of me is cynical about it thinking they're prioritizing NI content over 3rd party content and f**king around w/how it all works or something.. or aren't making the registration/serial # of 3rd party stuff available via native access and will force 3rd party developers to do something on their own or not have copy protection of any kind. idk. it's weird. trying to get hung up on it though because seems a FWP and there's other shit in my life that's more concerning.

i haven't tried to "Add Serial Number" to see if it'll allow me to re-enter the registration info for those 3rd party things.

part me thinks it's just something they haven't sorted out in this version... but i'm probably more cynical really.

New Massive X expansions dropped today:

Kino and Fade are finally something that's not just a bunch of cheesy EDM presets for latest club hits.

My thoughts exactly!

We look into making most our products Silicon ready this year. At least I can confirm Massive X will be hopefully soon

Barely. They hope to have most products silicon ready by the end of the year? It's absolutely crazy that more than 2 years after the release of silicon they still wont have their products ready. Smaller devs were ready on release or shortly after. Have NI cut down to 2 employees?

They had a lot of work with all that subscription and “Izotope-PA-NI ecosystem” stuff… I’m not ironizing, I’m sure it’s actually needs a lot of under the hood work like making decisions about what products should be abandoned, which should be freshened, etc.

Big company syndrome i.e. bureaucracy and or bean counting plus more product lines to maintain and in NI's case, products that were originally developed by sub-contractors e.g. Absynth. In many cases smaller devs are the dev and or they are the ones in charge of a small team e.g. u-he, Synapse Audio and as such they can be more agile, because they are not beholden to some other department and or shareholders. I suspect the more organised developers out there have a consistent framework or at the very least a lot of shared code like UI stuff; I'd be surprised if someone like ValhallaDSP wasn't reusing assets for their UIs, since they are all so similar and for them updating products is more streamlined as a result.

NI have it twice as bad because they are also needing to push out VST3s at the same time, where many smaller devs jumped that hurdled already and only had AS compatibility to contend with.

I’ll buy a Massive X expansion when they decide to support the basic MIDI spec.

Ha ha good one.

You mean eight controls isn't enough for you?

I'm halfway house on this. Would be great to have the expected control over every parameter. But just having the eight macros is usually enough for most things.

Valhalla has assets for its GUI?

j/k

No one can tell the future, and even the best planning and intention of how to implement a plug in ten years ago might run into some unforeseen issue. Add in that someone with multiple plug ins that's tried to evolve and improve things may have multiple frameworks, for various valid reasons, and it's easy to see how certain things might require much more work than it seems on the surface.

Very easy to throw criticism at devs, without being in their shoes and knowing their challenges.

Is this really a problem? Plogue make some of the best plugins on the business (and the best FM emulation plugins bar none). They have a way and it works for them.
