P565 SIREN features high and low pass filters with selectable slope and tunable musical resonance that brings you into the realm of some of the most sought after resonant filters and beyond. It also features two notch/peak filters designed for precise adjustment and creative expression. Each of these filters can be dynamically modulated based on an external input signal or the built-in dual envelope followers with fine control over attack, release, amount and speed characteristics. These features accumulate to a powerful creative use that ranges from subtle movement to funky rhythmic enhancement while still covering phasing, flanging and resonance sweeps.
P565 Siren doesn’t stop there. Use the drive to give body, character and dimension to any sound or warp it into overdrive, taking your sound to where no overdrive has gone before!

You tell me is it a bargain or not when:
- 40 days full trial, no limitation.
- Request to reset and do a 2nd 40 days trial.
- No impulse buying marketing, so you can see if the product works for you.
- Free transfer when you plan to sell your license.
- For one year and a half now, we never went above 25% discount, hence keeping resale value high.
- Since launching P42, we went from v1, v2 then v3 without charging users upgrade fees.

Pulsar Modular are going for high end of the market with their prices, but fair play to them as that's their business decision.
Purely considering it as a filter effect software, this P565 Siren is really wonderful.

Given the unbelievable quality, I see they compete with hardware, not software...

That comparison video doesn't make any sense at all .
All of them have inferior filter algo's simply because of the age of the plugins , only one coming close are Ableton stock 'cytomic ' filters
Why not compare it against Cytomic the drop ?
I agree about the price ,it is mighty expensive
While it does sound really good and perhaps competing with hardware , so is every plugin from cytomic at 1/3 the price , especially the drop with multiple modelled filter algo's

But The Drop is from 2014, that is 9 years ago. So the “simply because of age” reasoning is not valid. Still, you enticed me and I will get The Drop and check it out.gentleclockdivider wrote: Tue Aug 02, 2022 2:10 pm …

With age I meant to say progress and new development in the dsp field , read : zdf filters etc .P900 wrote: Wed Aug 03, 2022 3:56 pmBut The Drop is from 2014, that is 9 years ago. Off the showcased examples , only the drop ticks all those boxes .
The drop is from 2014 but new filters models were added ( hd versions et) .
Strange that you never heard of the drop, Andrew Simper is a legend !

I have two questions to ask about the following test files:1. Which one is which? Cytomic The Drop vs Pulsar Modular P656 Filter Set?
2. Which one do you like better?
I humbly and specifically request that @ p900 and @ nichttuntun take part in this test. Please and thank you.
Peace!

I find The Drop to have excellent filters. However, each has a flavor, some forte features and workflow, hence both can coexist in the same studio. Have you seen a music studio with only one type of compressor?

Both P565 and The Drop are excellent - each plugin brings different things to the sonic space and one's toolbox. Not sure what a "sonic shoot-out" achieves... yes, they will sound different based on settings, source material, playback system, etc. At any given time, preference may be one or the other -- which is fine. For me, it's not one versus the other - rather, using each in situations where it makes the most sense. So many great tools, so little time.....

You claim "No impulse buying marketing, so you can see if the product works for you.", yet I just received an email containing this:P900 wrote: Sat Jul 30, 2022 1:10 pmYou tell me is it a bargain or not when:

"We have the following 25% discount code valid for 22 uses. Grab your copy of Siren and be from the lucky 22 users."
Is this not "impulse buying marketing"?
