How many hours per day/week you make music and what is your "work" ethic?

Book store inside the Utrecht train station? That must be AKO. Plenty of those all over the country.
There are much better ones, not part of high-street chains like AKO. I especially like the ones on former churches

I spend 2-3 hours working on music every night. Sometimes I get a lot done, sometimes very little. I will at least listen to a lot of things I am still working on because the more times you listen to something, the more little details you pick up. On weekends I probably spend 5-6 hours a day.
I don't know about a work ethic, I pretty much always have the TV on while I'm working and I pay enough attention to that to follow the story. Mastering is the only time I really get serious about any of it and I don't spend a lot of time mastering.

Zero. That is going to change. My weakness has been having nothing to say for a long time.
I have plenty to say now.

Up until about 4-5 years ago, music was much more prevalent in my life and I spent many hours every night after the family went to bed working on music. These days, between the family, full-time career, photography side gig, playing bass in a band, and trying to juggle several vocalists that I collaborate with, my music time is all over the map. Sometimes, Iβll go a week or so with little/no studio time, especially recently as three large projects/studies that I manage have taken off at work. But, when things are cruising along smoothly at work, I typically get 2-4 hours of studio time in at least a few days each week. The band is relatively new and we practice once every week or two preparing for a few gigs booked for later this summer.
As for work ethic, Iβve shifted gears with music and just treat it like casual time since my job is pretty demanding and photography is basically a second job that requires me to be very efficient and keep a solid work ethic.

There was an instrument available about 15-20 years ago that loaded 8 samples and had Roland-style step sequencers for each. The samples could be used as one shots or loops (would automatically pitch to fit bpm) and each sequence step could be edited for pitch, filter, and volume (each pad was simultaneously a fader, could be dragged up and down). The best part is the patterns (meaning all 8 sequences together) themselves could then be played with a keyboard, you switched between different patterns simply by playing a different note.ON BEATS wrote: Sun Jul 31, 2022 9:31 am come on people let's keep this post going

All this is to say that the best workflow I ever had was when I was using that instrument. I hate arranging but it was a lot better when I could just play it in, plus my default Cubase project already had a basic arrangement lain out (I just had to be consistent about which keys I used as breakdowns). I was regularly completing fully mixed tracks in 1-3 hours back then.

I don't go more than a few days without recording something, or at least patching and jamming, and/or practicing bass. (*)
Workflow (or playflow) is this: patch stuff until I hear a sound that inspires me, come up with some other voices that go with it, set up controllers, noodle a bit to figure out what works. Hit record, capture the full stereo mix with all effects baked in, unpatch everything. Done, committed. (Except for some later EQ and dynamics tweaks and cleanup, but the point is, I can't really second-guess most of my creative choices at that point.)
Sometimes instead of a finished work I'll just grab a short loop or a bit of drone to use in the next session. And sometimes the spark never really catches, but that's OK, I'll just try again in a couple days.
(*) I used to go into a frenzy of recording stuff, finish an album in 3-4 weeks and then not make any music for months. I decided I kind of hated that and vowed to finish one track every week for a year, whether it was any good or not. The flow got much easier and I was doing 3 a week by the end of the year. (That cooled off after a while, but I still try for at least one a week.)
Not everything I record is release-worthy, but the longer I've been doing this the better the ratio is (and also the better my judgement about when it's not going to work and I should give up for that session). For the last few albums I've used about 3/4 of the material I recorded.

I work when I have something to work on. Then it's non-stop, much to the consternation of the missus.
Otherwise I don't work.
I don't noodle around.
Except when I am testing new plugins, or experimenting with FX.
