A single instance entry was a fun challenge that I've been wanting to do for a while.

1x Synth1
Reaper v6.58
stock plugins with the delay sends, it ends up functioning like ~11 or 12 synth instances.
Edit: There's also a JS: Master Limiter

O.k., I think I have an idea how to do all this using delay but who knows.
Any chance to have the Reaper project posted here or as a PM?

Thanks guys.
The ReaDelay is the stock preset configured with:
Volume set at +2dB, ~unity,
dry, wet, and feedback at 0 dB, (the synth master parent send routing is muted)
then set the 1/8th note slider to whatever rhythm you like.
The snare is the shortest at 4 8th notes, and I think the rest are set to a bar or longer.
Then I'm automating send mutes and the volumes of the tracks.
It was more difficult than it should've been because of what seem to be several Reaper automation bugs, including the inability to set the points to square by default, and that every function I tried seemed to just create linear points, which meant that I had to design every sound directly from the previous one.
I had to automate basically all parameters of the synth.
I had to manually change every point to square, which I made a toolbar button for.
Unfortunately, occasionally dragging and copying midi items can affect automation points that aren't associated with them, completely changing the sound of the patch in a different part of the project.
Perhaps most importantly - several abrupt, simultaneous automation changes aren't seamless in Reaper with Synth1. There are several audible artifacts. I attempted many forms of compensation so that it would at least generate a sound close to what I intended, and be close to the start of the timing that I intended.
There are a lot of bizarre workflow techniques that comes into play when writing this, because you have to wait for all the delays to get going. For example, carefully looping empty regions after all the delays are going allows you to experiment with automating the send track volumes.
As I had to work constantly this month, I thought about this almost every day, imagining how it would come together with all the delay sends, if I could figure out how to get an infinitely looping delay. Fortunately, the first thing I tried worked! Luckily, I was able to complete this all in 8 hours today, because this was very important to me. Also, as is often the case, I worked on it in my sleep, waking up with the idea of starting the song with a gradually detuning, swelling supersaw, into the monophonic fm bass pluck sequence with a tempo delay.
This type of engineering and problem solving is a brilliant exercise.

This might be THE most challenging and eye opening thing I ever came across in dealing with DAWs and synth plugins. Your project file will keep me occupied for some time, I am sure.
This must be the winner. No doubt.

You could check any of these:Vospi wrote: Mon Aug 01, 2022 2:17 am ...W1 Limiter. Is there a better free master limiter, do you know of one?

I tend to use Limiter No6 which is very versatile, sounds more transparent to me than other free limiters that I've tried and has never caused any problems.

W1 still has the best pump to it but for limiting complex signals at or near the top of the mix, Barricade is my favorite comprehensive limiter:Vospi wrote: Mon Aug 01, 2022 2:17 am W1 Limiter. Is there a better free master limiter, do you know of one?

Can't create a new user account at OSC site. Tried several times and am getting a password error. Anyone that can help would be appreciated.

Same thing here. It seems to think my KvR name is associated with an account but I couldn't send a password reset to any email I can remember having. I PM'd bjp; they probably have a lot going on this time each month.

Good to hear I'm not the only one. I was thinking I couldn't type in two copies of the same password. I PM'd too - I'll wait and see. Good thing I didn't wait to try it.

The voting page requires the use of the email address associated with your KVR nick as user name, not the nick itself. And uses a separate password. You'll need to set one if you've not used it before.

Well, still not working. Here's a screenshot
The email address I entered is my one for KVR.
I also tried getting a password reset to that email and it said "email not found."
