Sounds like a policeman - "Why are you filming our police station?"

Like I said: "Go back and read every single post attacking the OP for his idea".

Where are all those posters now? They were all clearly wrong, yet they were all cocksure that they were right. The original poster was right, was he not? Or is it too hard for you to admit that? I've bought Sylenth1 and Serum through Splice, yet apparently it's a 'loan' and a 'credit agreement' and therefore impossible for developers to use. And anyway, not ALL developers are using it, so it must be rubbish! And who is "having a pop" anyway?
"Save up in installments." So why does Splice exist, then? Basically, whenever somebody here posts a new idea, the idiots come along and attack the idea without even being able to think it through properly. Then when the idea actually comes to fruition in the real world, they attack anything they can about the poster's idea, while ignoring that everything they said was incorrect. So again I say - LOL.

I counted 16 unique devs on the R2O page on Splice, which one can hardly argue as any kind of monumental shift in how developers sell to their customers. It's great that some companies are offering it, but there's a long way to go before it could be considered 'the norm'.
Who suggested it was going to be a "monumental shift", and who ever suggested it was going to be "considered the norm"? More strawmen arguments.

Go and read the first post, then read ALL of the posts that were saying it wouldn't work, it was a bad idea, it was really a 'loan', it was really a 'credit agreement' and how could developers be expected to keep up with the oh so difficult tracking of multiple payments, etc. Splice proves all of those objections are wrong, and were wrong back then - nothing has changed with regard to payment processing, etc. since then. Yet they were all convinced it was a 'bad idea' - because they weren't able to think of anything NEW, so had to attack anybody who dared to use their brain.

So why did you, Pieberger, post what you did above? It's irrelevant to what I posted. I never said Splice had taken over the world, the OP didn't say their idea was going to take over the industry- just "what if we did this, would it work?". I see you craftily avoided addressing anything he said, or anything the detractors said...

basslinemaster wrote:What do you mean, SJ_Digriz "use a payment system through paypal or whatever"? Credit cards charge interest.
so you essentially want a zero interest loan from the developer? why not go to a bank instead? get a small load, pay all of it in time, only to a bank, not to developer.
basslinemaster wrote:"without causing an admin hassle for the vendor"... So more sales = admin hassle?
no, it's just adding one more level to manage and for things to go wrong.
Too funny. So why haven't Sylenth1 and Serum been removed from Splice then, since it's so dreadful for developers? What a typically paranoid and touchy response you made...
