Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all well. It has been a while since we have released some fresh music, but we have some to share! Our latest song is called Runaway. Honestly, there is not a lot of interesting back story to this song. :) I was keeping my typical 'music office hours' (middle of the night, basically) when the ideas just fell out of my fingers. Well, what really happened was that I stumbled upon the Boss CE-1 Chorus 'pedal' included in the guitar suite of Studio One and once I found that, the song really just wrote itself. The guitars had a feel that reminded me of the 80's , so I ran (see what I did there?) with that and gave a nod to a few of my favorites (The Cure, The Police). Troy put some meat on the bone with his drums (per usual) and bingo-bango we had a track!

About 90% of the electric guitars are played live. Since we wear the budget moniker as a badge of honor on our sleeves, we strive for what we like to call the budget hi-fi sound (the hi-fi part is debatable as our mixes are totally hit or miss :) ). The the great majority of the guitars (all?) were recorded thru my Joyo British Sound pedal (the Marshall flavored one). People always mention that there are 'cab sims' built into these, but like their Tech21 counterparts, they have an 'eq compensated' output that takes away the 'bee's trapped in a box' buzzy sound but that could still use some sweeting with IR's after the fact. No IR's or anything digital inside the little stomp box. I did track a few items straight in as DI though. For those tracks I ended up using Audio Assault's The Crown amp sim.

I used EZBass for, well, the bass. I used the modern bass from the original library. I pieced the bass line together inside EZBass then converted it to audio. I used a combination of the Bassement amp sim from United Plugins and bass cab IR's from SeaCow (something out of their Ampeg pack, I'm sure).

I hope you enjoy and, as always, thanks for listening/watching!

Guitar-oriented instrumentals primarily are my musical focus, and I dig your track. Very cool!

The first chord hooked me right in, and I was back in the 90s, playing Mission Of Burma. I love chords like those. Hope you got some lyrics for this cuz it's a winner! The overall production is great, the drums sound excellent.

Enjoyed this. Thanks.
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently no longer an 'elderly', now a 'senior'! Is that promotion?

Hey Buddy, thanks for checking this out. Our primary focus is gtr-oriented instrumentals as well. We should be friends. :)

Thanks for the kind words. I passed them along to the drummer as well. :) No lyrics or vocals as that is not our forte. Not saying we would be opposed to the idea.....

I've clicked like a lot by accident, so I know it means a lot to be a purposeful click. :) It is appreciated.

Great guitar track on this recording.
I also love the beat of the song, to include the drums.
Well done.
