Not cheap, but I wanted this for the Norns: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1277353885 ... e_10&crt=1

I’ve been resisting Norns Shield because I’m telling myself I have no business learning something completely new. Maybe 2023?

Looks tasty ... not sure what it is/does.

EDIT it's a case

GIYF

"norns shield

A DIY circuit which extends a normal Raspberry Pi, turning it into a norns.
The norns shield is open source hardware. monome sells a complete kit so that you can get straight to making sound with code."

 That's what I get for looking on the phone. I didn't even read that it was a MIDI Thru box and immediately thought you bought a monome norns shield. :dog:

Just saw a couple days ago that Monome is discontinuing their norns shield kit, though it'll still be open source.

They can't even build any more official norns, nor crow, until they redesign for a different microcontroller.

Damn. :x

Oh well, I can't go chasing this one after grabbing the Opsix. Plus, the Genelec 8020Ds are inbound. I still have to buy new cables, stands, and the 7040a sub.

I'm sure 2nd hand prices will be through the roof.

I hope they come up with something new. I honestly don't need it, but I've been fascinated by it.

As you can imagine, I've been following this. They also make a nice rack mount dual spring verb. Once we finish the garage conversion, I'll have space for something like this. I can't help but think I'd rather build a plate verb to my own specs but this has a lot of really fancy bells and whistles... Discrete opamps or tubes, big ass Carnhill transformers, optional germanium diode limiter, remote control of damping/decay time. Pretty cool!

Heh, you know you want one, we all know you want one.
Sure you could make one, but would it be that snazzy for much
less, in the way of cost?

Maybe you can con him into selling you a kit. :tu:

*I noticed the spring reverb as well, that one's more my speed and budget, though I still
am leaning towards the guitar cabinet style from Benson Amps maybe, there was another
amp company that makes one as well, that I can't recall atm.

Recently picked up Boss GX-100.

There are a lot of good sounds you can get out of it, and there is a lot of flexibility.

So, the Origin Effects, Champion Leccy and Rootbeer Audio pedals are all very excellent.
I am especially pleased with the Rootbeer Audio pedal, great stuff. :tu:

Been considering some options on a filter pedal for some time, fortunately OBNE released a brand new one :tu:

OBNE Float...

Well, after more research and consideration, I decided that the Syntakt would be a better complement to my other Elektron gear. As luck would have it, I found a great deal within a couple of hours drive, and BAM! It’s a Digitakt/Syntakt lovefest.

I won’t be surprised if a Digitone is still in your future. I’ve told myself that Opsix will keep me covered but I’d be lying if I said that I still don’t want a Digitone. :help:

Yeah, the thought of a Digi/Digi/Synful three-way love triangle crept into my head and sorta stayed there during most of my 2-hour drive home from picking up the Syntakt. :help: The thing is, I’m officially out of desktop space now. Unlesssssss…. Hmmmmmm, maybe if I dangle it from the ceiling with some sort of bungee…? Does Elektron make those?

I shouldn’t encourage this since you have an amazing setup, but these boxes all support VESA mounting, so dangling from the ceiling could be a reality. :hihi:
