Faster Way To Backup/Copy?

I've looked at some of these free file sync/back up apps and to be honest, I don't feel safe putting them on my machine, as the GUI's look like ancient third world spyware.

Prejudices. The mentioned FreeFileSync is safe, stable, and the GUI is alright too.

I agree with chk071, altough I mainly use Personal-Backup I have, and sometimes still use FreeFileSync, they are legit good software...haven't updated in a long time but I have not seen or heard anything that would suggest they aren't as good as they always been.

I have yet to find any other software that are as versatile as these two...I switched to Personal-Backup many years ago since at that time it had some feature that FreeFileSync didn't have...or it was better UI wise, can't really remember exactly... it was a long long time ago.

Anyway, I can't think of anything Personal-Backup can't do...and that's probably it's downside, it can be a bit overwhelming with all the features and amount of settings at first. However, the manual and online help section is very good and when all is sorted out it's as easy as run a shortcut from the desktop.

I like Iperius Backup (free version) for syncing backups. You can schedule different backups, disable/enable them, multiple sources/destinations for a backup.

I've used FreeFileSync and had zero issues. I can understand the concerns about spyware/etc with free software. I was using Acronis (paid) for a few years but I've found that FreeFileSync is actually better for simpler tasks such as file mirroring/updating like you are describing. I'm not sure if it's worth considering, but FreeFileSync has a paid version as well that supports development and unlocks some extra features.
