Why do use Logic?

You know you can customize what you see when Logic starts up dont you? You can have it NOT pop up that template window and just sit there waiting for you to go to File->Open if you want or you can setup your own templates and have those available as well.

He basically said that he just learned about templates just one sentence after your quoted part in that very post. Asking for help how to do it and he got it a few (2) posts above yours.

This is why I don't like forums. I'll go studio and ask a professional next time I want to learn something.

People on the internet have big egos, because it is the only place where most have some control in their lives.

It's always the ones who hate their job, their life, their wife, who use the internet as a vent for their pent up trauma and lack of social interaction in the real world. It can also point to childhood trauma that is no longer in the conscious psyche.

Well there is this thing every piece of software comes with called a manual and setting up your DAW is usually one of the first things it goes over. There are plenty of tutorials on setting up Logic workflows and how it works too.

But yeah its ONLY because we 'hate our lives' (WTF did you come up with that), its not the fact that people are getting lazy as hell and can't even bother to pick up the manual for a product they just spent money on and learn how to use it. Instead they run to the internet for hand holding before even looking at the preferences where the startup screen options are.

I type in a way that makes people think. I don't type to please egos. This is how I always have been. Like a mirror. I react.

Any negative reply to what I said proves my message had an impact.

Try to see the good too - please don't ignore the word 'love', which I typed honestly, because I love everything on this planet. Not acknowledging the positive says something to me about the mob culture/behaviour on the internet. Which I spoke on.

While I say things that may upset - the truth hurts - I also stress my love for humanity. The fact that we are human, that we can make the EFFORT in being nice.

To end..

I will make an effort to be nice on here, and if somebody says something that I do not like, I will make the EFFORT not to bite or react.

Let's continue with the Logic topic because I honestly don't mean to upset - I simply react. In western civilisation, reacting isn't liked, so I will really try not to bite back.

I hope that clears it up. I apologise if my words have upset anybody. I am still adjusting to your 'world' and how you interact. More than half of my life was spent in the criminal justice system. Please understand that I am not of your world, but I am trying to adapt and do good here. I collect clothes in Nürburg for the homeless. I cut homeless peoples hair for free whenever I visit a city. I also donate money (small change) and hand out water/snacks with friends. Not relevant, but I am making an effort.

I don't own logic.

I got a good tip from a rental car customer two days ago, and he said to go on eBay and buy an older version of Logic because it's cheaper

I am now considering this idea, but want to ask just one question please.

If the software is older, will I get locked out after a certain date (in Logic), or will I be free to update when I see fit? I have only previously tested Garageband before deleting it.

In fact. My beats are so simple I may as well follow the earlier advice and do the template thing. I'll download Garageband now.

Any tips on buying an old Logic license would be appreciated.

Absolutely a bad idea to buy Apple software in ebay, you will either end up with a crack, or a version of Logic from before it was on the App Store which will never run on your M1.

The best way to buy Logic is through Apple. They have a deal for students where you get Final Cut Pro along with it for the same price as Logic alone. https://www.apple.com/us-edu/shop/produ ... -education

Ive just downloaded Garageband and will watch a quick video to find my AU plug-ins

I've got nine tracks created exactly how I want then just learned you can't create templates in Garageband There is a procedure but it involves opening component files, blah blah. Not simple.

I would love to use Logic/Garageband but it seems the process to do anything requires loads of clicks and click here, click there, click something else etc just to get the instruments loaded.

In Waveform you literally open a new project and it has 8 tracks laid out. To open a VST it's drag and drop or keyboard shortcut. This gives me my instrument and the keyboard connected without having to think.

Drag and drop onto the track. Then it's just one more click for the instrument.

I would love to use and test this but it seems like a lot of work, by which point my creativity has left the building. I am sure it's a good software because lots of people use it. From my point of view it hampers creativity, and wtf is with the reverb when I never asked for it.

You don't need Templates though... create your file that you want to use as a template, save as, name it 'template' and when you launch Garageband, you can open that project.

I don't think Garageband is a particularly good intro to Logic, other than some basic functionality similarity. Logic Pro has far far more capability.

3 whole months to get familiar with all workflow ways Logic provides and you (as user) decide which route to go freely, almost always. Focus is the key. 1 thing at a time, memorize and next.

Maybe you end up with the conclusion that Logic Pro isn't made for you but at least you really did try.

You can't really treat it as a Logic demo.
