That Ravish Sitar you mentioned? So the deal fell through even after the order was confirmed? That sucks.
I had one. It was probably just me, but I could not get a convincing sitar sound out of it. For me it was just an envelope filter with a unique sound unlike any other.

yeah, order was confirmed, then hours later, cancelled due to lack of availability.
it's the universe telling me i dont need a sitar pedal
oh well. im sure i can find plenty of other fun things

Ordered the FullTone Plimsoul Mk.II. I think I got the last one but it was £149 from Sound Affects Music, which is a great deal.
Given the exchange rate, it's also a good deal at Andertons (£179).

Anyone ever mess around on www.pedalplayground.com to plan out their pedal boards? Cool site. Even picks up where you last left off so you can refine things over a few weeks, which is what I've been doing. I think my next pedalboard will be something like this:

Bunch of expensive stuff on there, but something I can build up over time (already have the Whammy). Can also incorporate some of my unused pedals in the meantime. Need to find a similar sized alternative to the Temple Audio board that's shown there. I've already got one Temple board and I don't love the plate design. Would rather just use Dual Lock for attaching pedals to boards.
Signal chain will likely be:
1. PolyTune mini (good input buffer)
2. Keeley - Compressor
3. Digitech - Whammy
4. Odd Blood - Fault
5. JHS - Morning Glory
6. Keeley - Loomer
7. Boss - GEQ-7
8. GFI - Synesthesia
9. Empress - Echo-System
10. Strymon - Flint

i use the pedal page on modular grid
but the floor is my board, so they don't have an option big enough.
we're not all using some tiny footprint, it's more about how many plug sockets and power bricks we have.

I like the sense of order and convenience of having a few pedal boards that are easy to pick up and move around. But yeah, you kind of sacrifice the ability to quickly swap things in and out and move them around. Requires some commitment (oddly, one of the few things I don’t face commitment issues with). But much tidier than the floor!vurt wrote: Sun Jul 24, 2022 3:26 pm i use the pedal page on modular grid

Anyone got any small (but not mini) analog and/or tape style delay pedals they like? Good DSP emulations are fine. Size the limiting factor. The absolute largest I can go would be a UAD Starlight (and that's already slightly too big) - so that rules out anything Strymon or some of the larger multi-FX boxes. I just want something that sounds good and will self-oscillate to replace my old TC Electronics Flashback (the original) but isn't much larger.
Things in contention:
1. MXR Carbon Copy - leaning towards this one
2. UAD Starlight (ouch on the price though)
3. Nano Memory Man Deluxe
4. Walrus Arp-87
...anything else people like (new or used) that I'm not thinking about?
Tap Tempo would be a definite plus.

I like the JAM Pedals delay llama quite a lot, though I have the extreme version (which I mostly use like a standard version lol).

Thanks for the tip! Wasn't aware of that one. A little pricy compared to say the Carbon Copy (which it seems similar to) or Boss DM2-w (have one already), but interesting. Meets the size and tap-tempo requirements. Will keep it in mind.pekbro wrote: Tue Aug 09, 2022 9:38 pm I like the JAM Pedals delay llama quite a lot, though I have the extreme version (which I mostly use like a standard version lol).

Are the delay taps lightly modulated by any chance? Also, does it self-oscillate with runaway feedback? I saw there's a dip switch or something to set the number of max feedback repeats, so I'd hope that was setting the difference between self-oscillation and non-self-oscillating.

Just saw the JHS Panther Cub V2 (which has been discontinued). That might be perfect. You get a full second of a delay time, tap tempo, modulation, analog, and it's the right size...

No modulation in this version really, the Delay Llama Xtreme does all that stuff. It's hard to compare this to the MXR pedal as Dunlop doesn't really say very much about it, not that I can find anywhere. *shrug
*It can do self oscillation very well, also there's the trails thing, where you can set the buffer fade time internally. Anyway, its a great delay, but it's meant to be fairly simple I guess. The Xtreme version is meant for the experimental stuff, it even has a sequencer, not an overly useful one sadly, the rest of the modulation is great though. The Xtreme one cost's quite a bit more and is a lot larger of course.
It just depends on what you like and want I guess. JAM pedals are very nice and well made, e.g. point to point, hand painting etc. Quality is very high all around which definitely adds to the cost.

I've had the Seymour Duncan Vapor Trail on my Wish List for a while.
I have 2 Seymour Duncan pedals already and the quality (sound & build) is great.

The Boss DD-200 is great. All the algorithms you'd expect (Space Echo, Binson, BBD, 2290, etc) and oddball but highly useful ones like the Pad Echo (gorgeous) and Tera Echo (sounds alive). Plus, you can easily change the sounds in ways that normally aren't available, such as applying a fade-in to the digital delay or filtering the BBD.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Tue Aug 09, 2022 9:22 pm Anyone got any small (but not mini) analog and/or tape style delay pedals they like? The Carbon Copy sounds great. The Starlight sounds the better than pretty much anything but the lack of presets is a joke. The Nano Memory Man doesn't sound like a real Memory Man (if that's what you're looking for). I've never tried the Arp-87.
