Yeah, much better. Really glad they gave this one an overhaul. Nobody else has made a good CS-80 emulation and the world deserves at least one.martiu wrote: Sun Aug 14, 2022 8:21 am I just tried the CS-80 V4, it sounds completely different compared to the old version, powerful and dynamic, amazing improvement.

I bought it, because it was the only other one out there, but I don’t care for it. IMO it’s not even as good as the older Arturia emulation.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 3:02 pmThe ME80 is excellent.Arashi wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 3:12 am Yeah, much better. Gotta disagree with you on that. The new Arturia one is alright, but I still think the ME80 is slightly better. Much better than the old Arturia CS-80.Arashi wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 3:20 pmI bought it, because it was the only other one out there, but I don’t care for it. I think these sounds show it off nicely:
Bass/punch in particular is much better, as is often the case with alternatives to Arturia versions.

It's been a while since I installed my Arturia synths. I think I have an older version. Do the new ones sound any better anyone? I think I had the CS80? The interface was too small for these old eyes.

The CS80 V4 sounds much better compared to V3, the V3 was ok i guess but a bit flat and dull sounding, the new one eliminates those weaknesses nicelyspidermix wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 4:45 pm It's been a while since I installed my Arturia synths. Thank you kind sir! My opinion was the same. It sounded NOTHING like a CS-80. I've got to many impulsive buy synths that turned out to not be what I wanted. Oh well.martiu wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 5:06 pmThe CS80 V4 sounds much better compared to V3, the V3 was ok i guess but a bit flat and dull sounding, the new one eliminates those weaknesses nicelyspidermix wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 4:45 pm It's been a while since I installed my Arturia synths. WOW! I may have to UPGRADE SOON! Arturia's old synths weren't as good as Massive and Sylenth when I bought them so I uninstalled it and never looked back.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 3:43 pmGotta disagree with you on that. Just to be clear, those videos were the ME80, not Arturia's CS-80 V4. I still think ME80 sounds better. Those were a response to the person who said they thought the ME80 didn't sound as good.spidermix wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 5:48 pmWOW! I may have to UPGRADE SOON! Agree to disagree. Those ME80 demos are slathered in effects, like all of its presets. It doesn't sound that great when you turn the effects off.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 3:43 pm Gotta disagree with you on that. Like I said, I actually bought it and have first-hand experience with it. It doesn't inspire me, and sure doesn't sound anything like this:

I actually find the ME80 to sound extremely close to that video (e.g. the second vid Patches for sale, from 50 seconds to about 1:36 those basses. Good luck getting that with Arturia). The Arturia I really wish had that bite, as I will eventually upgrade to V9 and have the new CS-80 but while it has nice pads and softer sounds it doesn't have the punch and clarity (for lack of a better word). Arturia analog emus have the same issue across the board. Terrible attack, no punch. The pure tone has gotten much better in recent versions. I prefer their digital stuff.

The collection is good. However there is a feature I miss in the B3V.. I mean you can play any virtual B3 quite realistic IF you have a drawbar controller... at the moment I don’t... but if those black keys were programmable - It would be quite easy to change the sound during a performance.. Depending on their presets is not acceptable. And the solution they’ve come up with to give you «10 extra hands» is neither intuitive, nor practical...
