Hi all, any help appreciated. I managed to get hold of an Echomixer, wanted one for ages. But.. it's unmodified so I have no idea how to test it. I bought a five-pin din to jack which I think will work for input. But the output is hard-wired, looks like it's a different kind of din, maybe a 3-pin din but can't find any of those. Does anyone know if what the spec of the hardwired cable is? And easiest way to get audio out of it out of to my desk? Also if it doesn't work does anyone know who might modify or fix them in the UK (or EU at a push..)

Ah, you're looking for DIN pin-outs.

5-pin DIN was used with tape recorders for both Output and Input (in stereo) through one single cable between tape deck and receiver/amplifier. Since DIN stands for Deutsche Industrie Norme, I suspect the design is to have that for inputs & outputs of the device.

If you have a cable with a 5-pole DIN on one end and four RCA connectors at the other (two red=right, two white sometimes black = left) then that's probably all you need.

Its old stuff. Best is to solder your cables yourself. If you want to use such old equipment its a requirement anyway…
