Any way to show velocity only for selected notes in Ableton Live/Bitwig?

Hi guys

When editing MIDI clips (especially complex drum parts) in Ableton Live, I would like to be able to see the velocity levels only for selected notes (for example, if I'm making adjustment to the hi-hat, I want to see only the velocity levels for the hi-hat, not for all the drums). Live shows the velocity for the selected notes in a different color, but that's almost useless, as seen in this printscreen:

I tried Bitwig, hoping that it would allow me to display the velocity levels only for selected notes, but unfortunately, it's worse than Live. It's almost impossible to tell which are the velocity levels for the selected notes (the very tinny dots inside those little circles doesn't help at all)

So, is there a way to show the velocity levels only for selected notes? Or at least to show them in a very different color?

Yes. I don't know how they thought that would be useful. It's almost like searching for the proverbial needle in a haystack.

Mute the notes you don't want to see?
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

And ofc you can change the velocity when you create the midi note by double click and hold, then drag up or down. If I remember right, there was some key shortcut to do it later when several have been selected, then press some key and roll up/down with middle mouse (though this could be some other DAW.. I use 3 :P)

This works in Live (not in Bitwig) but it's not really what I'm looking for, because I want to be able to hear all the other notes when I change the velocity for the selected notes.

I don't think this is possible in Live.

But if this is just for visual separation, check out some other themes? That one in your screenshot has pretty bad contrast.

Yes. This seems to be the only solution in Live.
Bitwig, on the other hand, doesn't have skins, so I'm stuck with those bloody dots.

I'm pretty sure Live has a way to adjust the velocities of all selected notes as a group. That may not be exactly what you want, but it could be useful. I don't have it in front of me right now so I can't test, but you might want to look into it.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Adjusting velocities for all the selected notes, as a group, is easy. What I'm looking for here is a way to show the velocities only for those selected notes, and hide the velocities for the notes that are not selected.

Simple. Use two MIDI tracks.

Or three MIDI tracks: two tracks with the MIDI data routed to a third track with just the instrument. Would save you from multiple instances of the instrument.

Cut and (don't forget to) paste.

Hey I know this is old, but I found this thread because I have the same question. I'm pretty sure I could route each/whichever instrument I want from Superior Drummer to individual tracks in ableton - I should've done that before I made this entire song - now I only want to go in and edit kick velocity for every kick...as I type I have a few ideas...but, I was wondering how to do your idea; How do I route MIDI data from any track, let alone from two tracks to one?

Thanks
