Who uses Yamaha vintage Steinberg collection ? The brand Yamaha is very interesting or attractive to me, I like some of their gear and especially instruments, I think I would join Yamaha cloud, I like it way more than Roland or Korg.
I know Yamaha Vintage plugins are pretty old, I would like to know if someone still uses them. Well, a additional dongle to iLok is a no go for me, so I never took into consideration to buy Steinberg Yamaha plugins.

I had no idea Yamaha even did plugins. Considering how often they’re spoken of here, I’m going to assume they’re not great.

Surely you remember Yamaha Final Master.
A MB compressor with a limiter.
Things were so simple then.

Yamaha stopped making plugins or updating their old ones - but they were actually really good. Their tape emu was one of the better ones, it's about on par with Softube Tape but predates it by many years. The pitch correction plugin had an algorithm that sounded less wonky than Autotune did at the time. And the only Neve plugin emulations to ever be fully endorsed by the late Rupert Neve were by Yamaha.zerocrossing wrote: Thu Aug 25, 2022 5:07 am I had no idea Yamaha even did plugins. The sound is not that bad, but their UI and UX is unacceptable for me
I felt it was already outdated 10 years ago.
Their DSP is still available in their high-end digital mixer. The recent model has more plugins (inside that mixer). Are there any review about them?

Yamaha has/had indeed some great instruments and gear and I did not know they also developed Neve, Pultec emus etc., unfortunately they don't sell or offer them

Yamaha Pitch Fix is still the best sounding pitch correction plugin.

Dont know anything about any of these plugins.....but I feel real sure if carries the name Yamaha.... it doesnt suck and more likely is one of the best values in the market. 40 years of various Yamaha products....all were great.
We jumped the fence because it was a fence not be cause the grass was greener.

I have the vintage stomp collection. Bought it specifically for the wah pedal effect which is excellent and the phasers + flanger are also quality. I don’t mind the older graphic interfaces since I’m still on a 1080p monitor.

It's likely because these plugins are ancient by plugin standards and most discussion tends to be about new stuff. I do remember the Yamaha pitch effect being talked about fondly here over ten years ago. And the Yamaha RND plugins had a quite a lot of discussion over at Gearspace.zerocrossing wrote: Fri Aug 26, 2022 1:46 pmWhy are they never mentioned?v1o wrote: Thu Aug 25, 2022 10:13 amYamaha stopped making plugins or updating their old ones - but they were actually really good.
