You don't mean drag and drop samples right? cause Kontakt has been doing that for over a decade.

You can? How?

I have Kontakt 6.7 and I have just tried to drag a sample that I have recorded into it and it wont allow it. I have hovered over quickload and anywhere else I can think of. I just get a red circle with a line through it wherever I try to drag and drop in it.

You cannot drag a sample into Quickload, but you can drop it on the empty Kontakt rack, or if you're in instrument edit mode, directly onto the Mapping Editor.

If you're talking about a clip you have just recorded in the DAW and it's there as an item on a track, Kontakt doesn't support this. It has to be a physical WAV/AIFF/REX/NCW file.

Just to expand on this, if you're in for example Bitwig (or probably same in ableton), if you record something to a clip, you can't drag the clip, however you can click the clip to show the waveform edit view, and then drag from the header of the waveform in the edit view into kontakt.

You can already drag and drop - open the mapping editor and you can drag any number of files onto the keyboard. Hi / lo adjusts the spacing. It's pretty basic but much better than nothing.

How?

I have made a new instrument, opened up the mapping editor, tried to drag a wave file from the pool in Studio One onto the piano keyboard, and all I get is a red no go sign.

Thought I have studio one pro (4.5) I don't use it. I use Cubendo and since I find they have a lot in common there most likely is a similar way to do it in Studio one.
Whilst indeed you can't drag it from the project window, you can from the media browser (which also includes all the audio in your current project, newly recorded or otherwise)..

I always drag from wherever the samples are in the OS. Always works.

Thanks, but i already knew how to do it that way. Its messy. At the moment I record my Juno 6 or other hardware, and just drag the wav into the Studio One sampler and its pretty much ready to play. I want to be able to do the same in Kontakt, and drag and drop from an audio track straight into it with no messing around looking for what you have just recorded in some folder somewhere in the PC. Failing that, they should just give Kontakt the ability to record like it should have been able to do from version 1.

Post

Clearly you see it differently than I do and you are entitled to, but I guess Kontakt is not for you.

Every project I do has its own audio folder so I don't look for the audio in some folder somewhere.. I know exactly where it is.

But to each their own.
Clearly NI knows how to record directly (just look at Maschine)... For whatever reasons they choose not to do it that way, and for my workflow that is a zero problem.

ymmv of course.

That looks like a change log between *beta* versions.

What it’s not, is a list of features for final release.

That is among the things I dislike about early leaks…
1) it could be fake
2) the grumble party starts early complaining about what’s not there in a product that’s not here.

If K7 is around the corner, I would bet on a much longer list.
The marketing campaign will be sure to remind us of all the new things added.

Not sure about that. Some of the fixes look like they could be between betas, but some of what was added seems like v7 additions, not between betas.
Eg. new effects, factory library 2, full screen browser etc.

HiDPI Browser, Factory Library 2 (first HiDPI content), new effects.
ADDED Fullscreen HiDPI Browser featuring global text search; filter by tag, brand and properties (editable for user-created content), favourite presets for quick access, and import non-player libraries
ADDED Two new effects - Psyche Delay and Ring Modulator

Post

Oh I'm interested in seeing how HiDPI is implemented here. With it coming with a new Factory Library labeled 'first HiDPI content), that leads me to believe the GUI itself will scale everything, not just the window frame. Which is desired.
