That seems to me to be a very lovingly compiled sfz multisample.
Due to the parameterization and the keyswitches, it is super
suitable for "real" guitar playing! Especially the "tallpiece" and the
"feedback"-parameter are awesame great! :tu:

One of the best guitars! :clap:

And ... by the way, no one has an excuse anymore for not having
the right guitar sound, even if they don't play guitar themselves.

My "thank you" goes to Brian Wood and Karoryfer for their
meticulous work, recording so many samples (4-fold round robin,
3 -fold velocity - corrected - !) and then preparing them so
fantastically for sforzando! :)

The feedback parameter is really fantastic: any guitar work can be brought
to extraordinary life with it! :tu:

Maybe someday I should someday document how that's done. It's not hard but it's also more than just synthesizing a sine wave at the same pitch as the note.

There's also a noise sample to dirty up those sines a little, at very high feedback levels it goes into microphonic feedback, and the noise and microphonic feedback ignore pitch bends and vibrato. Also the lowest notes the sine is one or two octaves above the note's pitch. Feedback level also affects the attack time of the sine wave - higher levels mean faster attack (faster feedback onset). Finally, release samples have rt_decay set to 0 when feedback is on, so the release sample is full volume no matter how long the note is held.

Still haven't figured out how to do polyphony yet, though. Play a chord and only one note's feedback frequency will "win". Making feedback monophonic means it's the most recently played note, which is usually not true in a chord strum, and the feedback will stop if the latest note is released while other notes are held. This might require some sort of extension to sfz...

Oh yes, you should definitely do that. Everyone can learn a lot from it -
and maybe even get ideas for other great features. :wink:

I took a look inside the sfz. Your combination of sine wave and feedback sample
works amazingly. Apparently you've been tinkering with this setting for some
time. The result is really awesome! :D

I've been messing with it since Secret Agent Guitar a few years ago, yeah. Love weird noisy 90s music from Cop Shoot Cop to Slap Happy Humphrey, so quite a bit of feedback there.

You assembled the "Black and Green Guitars" with a lot of meticulousness
and effort. I have one question:

What does the "tp bends" parameter do? You can only turn it on or off. I
have no idea what this switch actually does :?:

It changes what the pitch wheel does. With it off, bends are only upwards, and either the same depth always or deeper on the higher notes, like string bending behaves. With it on, you get the emulated Bigsby on the pitch wheel - up and down, and deeper on lower notes.

Ohh thanks. That's nifty haha. When it comes to playing guitar - as bold and
animalistic as possible - on keyboards, we're pretty close with this multisample.
Because the whimper hook or pitch bender is crucial. :tu:
