Did Plugin Alliance delete Russian accounts?

I was considering getting a PA subscription since there's plugins that I want and don't own from them and it seemed like a fine deal. But then I looked on trustpilot and a bunch of people from Russia are complaining that their accounts got deleted after the war started simply because they are Russian. Is this true? Has anyone Russian here speak to this?
It would suck to have a large investment completely gone simply because your government did something dumb. I can understand not allowing new purchases, but completely deleting the previous purchases and account?

There is some anecdotal evidence that PA may have deleted some Russian accounts going back to at least April. However this is a serious accusation so cooler heads should prevail until more information is gathered.
I know several financial institutions have stopped doing business in Russia so there may be some reason for PA's actions. Again let's wait until we know more.

Definitely. Hopefully it's nonsense.Teksonik wrote: Thu Aug 25, 2022 9:52 pm However this is a serious accusation so cooler heads should prevail until more information is gathered.
Not cool if true.

I do not remember seeing such an email:
I've looked at the PA site and I don't see any indication that they are openly refusing to do business in Russia or Belarus.
I don't know what anyone would gain from lying about PA deleting their accounts unless it's a smear campaign against PA.
Seems like a KVR member would have already complained about it unless I missed the thread and if I did, so did the OP of this thread.
Again much more information is needed. I'm not a super fan of PA but they deserve a fair "trial" as would any developer accused of such actions.

Which also offers no further clarity. As you suggest, one would expect more posts regarding it if true. There's a 1000+ thread with notes on GS.

Can't someone with a VPN just set it to Russia and try and get into their PA account?
Or will that lock them out for trying?

There are numerous sanctions levied on Russia by the US, UK, and EU as a result of their ongoing invasion of Ukraine. In the US, one can check at both the State and Treasury Departments. I can't speak to the respective UK or EU equivalents.
Also, many companies unilaterally chose to stop doing any business with Russia for the same reason.

not for the people who spent a small fortune on their plugins.
