Audio Plugin Hosts and other audio software applications discussion

Every time I horizontally scoll a loop ie. drag it from left right so the audio file loops it keeps on going. The result is that my computer no longer responds to any commands and it would keep on scrolling until the next century if I didn't reboot my PC.

The fact that it happens to both Acid and Sonar suggests a possible XP fault but I cannot find anything regarding it on the web.

Anyone have any ideas.

I use SONAR 4 & ACID 5, just about everyday, and even in rewire mode, I have never experienced or read about this type of behavior before. Have you tried using another mouse or input device? Sounds like something is locking up and not releasing, as you scroll.

Yes I have tried changing the mouse but it appears to be some sort of software bug.

Problem is I am appear to be only person in the known Universe who has it

Normally you can find anything on google but I am at a loss.

DO a disk check on your hard drives.

I have tried that - no joy.

This is a long shot but: have you got the latest drivers for your display card, etc?

:-( Ah well. I'm stumped, then. Might help to post to the Sonar forum, and if Acid has one, there too. Even if it's not related to the specific app, someone else might have ideas.

Sorry not to be any help (that's usually the case). Best of luck tracking it down!

It gets better - now minimising piano roll is causing my PC to freeze.

I have checked for viruses etc - nothing.

I think it may have ot be the dreaded reformat but then I think of software like sampletank, native instruments and tassman and the pain of reinstalling these plugs and start to think better of it but at this rate I won't have much choice.

another shot in the dark, could it be a hardware thing?
Like cpu overheat or a stick of ram you swapped or sth.? You could try prime95's (www.mersenne.org) torture test to see if your hardware is solid...

Thanks Niko but i have tried a harware test and everything appears to be working okay.

My guess is that there is a conflict somewhere software wise but finding the culprit is like finding a needle in haystack.
