That's adorable. Are we done here? I mean, seriously - no one wants to watch you derail the thread with pedantic arguing and ad hominems. Jesus. :dog:

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

And who was the first (again) to get agressive, just because I corrected something you claimed? Oh yes, that was you! " :dog: semantics". Just because I dared to correct you. Oh how pedantic, how agressive of me.

f**k off! And everyone else who is unable to see right through this crap may kindky f**k off too.
Ban me all you like if you must. I won't take this sort of crap from no-one. It was EnochLight who started it, not me.

A "console emulation" - by convention - means saturation, crosstalk, that sort of thing, which the Reason mixer does NOT have - and I merely pointed that out. So f**k off everyone who tries to turn this into anything else. That dude posted falseness and I corrected it and that is alll there is to it. He just can't have that, weak ego and all.

cheers :)
No worries! I think you're on Mac, correct? You have to copy that favorites file to the correct directory before running Reason. Depending on the OS, copy it here:

Favorites
macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/Reason
Windows: %APPDATA%\Propellerhead Software\Reason

Glad to have helped! I mean, I honestly had no idea if you'd like any of the new content - like you said, tastes are pretty subjective and personal. But that collection seems to have a pretty wide variety of cool sounds, plus some bread and butter stuff. :tu:

I think a lot of the sounds and presets included in 12 sound very nice indeed. Plus there are just a ton of them that have been added over the years and it’s really easy to find a sound to get you inspired.

I'm on Windows 10. It's where it's stated in the quote above. Hit your Windows key on your keyboard and paste:

%APPDATA%\Propellerhead Software\Reason

...into the search box and hit enter (I recommend using Ctrl + C and Ctrl + P). Will take you right to the correct directory...

JockMcRonan wrote: Mon Aug 29, 2022 6:39 pm I just upgraded to Reason 12 after a few years with Reason 10 sitting doing pretty much nothing as I thought it might be cool to at least be able to access the rack in Logic. Firstly, purely from the visual aspect, it still looks like a cluttered mess (using Reason 12) on the screen and secondly, when I loaded the rack up in Logic, I couldn't help bet feel immensely underwhelmed by the sounds. I get it works well for other people's workflow (sound?), but unfortunately, for me, it is probably going to just sit around occupying HD real estate until my next computer update (c'mon Jock, dust off the wallet you tight arsed Scot, 8 years is too long to be flogging this old computer dead horse)
IMVHO, Reason needs 3 screens to be great from a usability perspective.

One screen rotated 90 degrees for Racks. One for the sequencer, and one for the mixer.

One display isn't enough, and it's a bit of a nightmare on a single laptop screen.

IMO, 2-3 FHD displays > one ultrawide 5K display for Reason, due to how the UI is organized.

Even in other DAWs, usability is a struggle for me with less than 2 displays. Things get a bit cramped. Not my cup of tea. Remote Apps (Logic, Studio One, Avid Control) are a godsend for mobile Laptop users, for that reason - pun unintended.

If I said you are blocked, I won't see your posts. Please kindly refrain from quoting or replying to me.
"Notifications for Nothing" are annoying. Blocking me in return is a good way to avoid this.

I don´t think so...
Of course if you like to spend the money and if you have the place and installation possibilities to make this work and still have your audio monitors in the right place why not...
But detaching the mixer and rack, saving that as a template and switching with F5-F7 keys works already very comfortable...

Most DAW have seperate windows and most people still don´t use a multiscreen setup but a single monitor...
Why should Reason be an exception here??

Post

Most pieces of production software feel better with multiple displays even if only for detaching the mixer to a second window. Cubase, Studio One, Samplitude Pro X, Reaper, Bitwig, etc all feel way better when expanded to multiple displays. The one area where I'd say Reason is unique in this is that having a third monitor set vertically for the rack is a thing of beauty. I've got a 3 monitor setup in my studio configured exactly this way with a 27" monitor hung vertically for the Rack and its so much fun to work that way where you just scroll up and down the rack as needed.

I mean... you could always rock one monitor though:

lol haven't thought about making this detached mode as a template :D I should try it some time.
Usually I just open new blank project and detach thosewindows as I go, usually just a rack from sequencer, leaving Mixer attached to sequencer because I only use it at the end mostly, when actually mixing. So just 2 windows.

this one would be entire length of my desk

P.S. But I agree with few others, Reason would be a bit better if it was more like Ableton, and had the rack down below somehow, instead of seperate window which you have to scroll scroll and scroll to find what you need. I was of different opinion 5 years ago though. I thought having a seperate rack for instruments was more useful until I started using multiple effects and tracks in my music. And I hate keyboard shortcuts.
