I'm getting email and notifications from KVR that version 7 is available, but see nothing from Steinberg or anywhere else about this. Even after logging in to my Steinberg account.
Anybody know what the news about this is?

I’m curious too, it’s a few days that I see a version 7 notification in “my kvr”, but no signs of a new version on Steinberg website or anywhere else…

I keep getting tempted by HALion but I thought they might have abandoned ship with this and I bought UVI Falcon and I am still after 3 years learning something new with that and wondering 1) Is Steinberg really behind HALion and expanding the market 2) What am I missing with HALion that Falcon is missing

Bitwig is my DAWs and UHe and Tracktion Synths are my Bae. I maybe buy one synth a year. REMEMBER SELF just one synth a year!

Well, with the promise of v7, the dongle. And the parasitic nature of iLok software. (Which hijacks two System processes for their purposes.)mtelesha wrote: Wed Aug 31, 2022 6:09 pm I keep getting tempted by HALion but I thought they might have abandoned ship with this and I bought UVI Falcon and I am still after 3 years learning something new with that and wondering 1) Is Steinberg really behind HALion and expanding the market 2) What am I missing with HALion that Falcon is missing
Subjectively for me also is the sound character is different. If Falcon ever decides to kick iLok to the curb, I think I'd probably own both.

I'm guessing it will be out in time for a Black Friday deal?? I saw one of the Steinberg mods mention it was announced in a reply on their forums the other day, but when I looked at what he was referring to it just mentioned 'late 2022'. I held off picking it up during the sale in July because I know as soon as I buy it, they'll release the next one hah. Hopefully November has some treats in store..RikkShow wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 10:46 am They have hinted H7 will come towards the end of the year. Nothing more precise than that. Some FM function has been mentioned to. That's so AFAIK.

50% off a lot of stuff, but no new Halion or Absolute.

Yeah that put me right off from purchasing it heh. I have no trouble hanging onto my DAC and not activating it until Halion 7 comes out, but they only have Absolute on sale. Albeit its $100 cheaper then buying Halion on its own, but I dont want to be tied to the Absolute collection when it comes to updates/upgrades and whatnot.. I'd much rather have an individual license for Halion by itself so when the app gets updated I can update it and not have to wait for an 'Absolute Collection' update.felis wrote: Wed Nov 16, 2022 5:55 pm Nope: https://www.steinberg.net/promotion/

Hopefully Yamaha is more involved with this release, or at the very least they allow the sound designers, actual access to some of Yamaha's best technology ( Montage ). Halion releases just seem like a poor re-run without anything worthwhile everytime I think of upgrading.

Padshop 2 has finally been moved over to Steinberg licensing and Apple Silicon so the fact that Halion hasn’t seems to suggest they are saving that for the big update.

They already said at the beginning of the year the move to the new licensing won't come until Halion 7. Halion 6 is going to need the dongle for as long as people keep it running. Padshop, Retrologue and Groove Agent were migrated over awhile ago, its just the big one everyone is still waiting for.aMUSEd wrote: Sun Dec 25, 2022 7:18 pm Padshop 2 has finally been moved over to Steinberg licensing and Apple Silicon so the fact that Halion hasn’t seems to suggest they are saving that for the big update.

I wonder if Halion 7 will get a scalable interface. None of the major samplers do have scalable UIs yet.
I’d also love to see mpe. They shoot themselves in the foot only allowing the Cubase style note expression.

Oh really? I owned it once and it wasn’t scalable. Didn’t realize that changed.EvilDragon wrote: Thu Dec 29, 2022 8:02 pmFalcon does.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Dec 29, 2022 7:24 pmNone of the major samplers do have scalable UIs yet.
