What (effect) plug-ins have really impressed you lately?

Almost off topic in the current discussion, but by the subject title, I'm surprised by Audio Damage's Discord 4. Will probably succumb to the GAS when it goes on a no-brainer sale.

Yeah... Arturia has been impressive in recent years. Their software synth emulations used to be pretty crappy and they just keep getting better and better. Their effects are quite good too. Plus I have the PolyBrute and it is the most innovative analog synth ever.chk071 wrote: Wed Aug 31, 2022 8:10 pm Arturia REV Intensity.
Arturia is really pushing the right buttons lately. The effects I tried from them are all very nice.

Remembered another one: Caelum Audio Cassette Tape 2, and it's free https://www.caelumaudio.com/CaelumAudio ... eCassette2

Not only a plug-in but it impressed me very much: Spectralyers Pro 9. Its new algorithms for separating elements especially the volume thing are inspiring and almost magical.

I'm aware of that feature but haven't tried it yet. Do you know of a video that demonstrates this well?ReverendLove wrote: Sun Sep 04, 2022 9:43 pm Not only a plug-in but it impressed me very much: Spectralyers Pro 9. You're right actually. Eternity is an extremely flexible delay as well. Then there is Fragments and now ColdFire. Modern tools for a modern era.chk071 wrote: Wed Aug 31, 2022 8:10 pm Arturia REV Intensity.

Basically anything Unfiltered Audio does is really creative and flexible. Retro-Fi, Clarity and the newer SSL channel strip from Waves.
If the rumours are true there is also the "now with VST" version of StudioRack that just dropped. Maybe not so unique or innovative, but potentially very useful indeed.

Those four, along with Tape-Mello-Fi, are the only five Arturias i own - no use for any emulations here, but the re-thinking, forward-thinking and, to quote someone completely out of context; "shitload of weapons" they provide... fascinating stuff possible out of "typical effect area" and clearly top notch quality. sometimes it's too complex for fast use and i'll go a bit back to simpler stuff (valhalla in most cases), but if you have time (and cpu ressources)...

Crystals, I used it first while demoing the H9 bundle and was really surprised, i wanted Other desert cities before but the CPU use is much more lower and more simple to use.

I’ve been really digging into AccSones’ Crusher-X the last few days and it’s insane.

It's an old one, but Unfiltered Audio Dent 2 became my go to distortion plugin. Amazing control and alghoritms, auto gain control works great and so does tonal shaping. Ivr had it on shelf for so long chasing something fancy that I didn't even notice what it can do. It's tape saturation is a beast, exactly what I needed so many times. Slept on plug!

Tonsturm Traveler is pretty neat - best doppler I have for creative work.

Gonna have to try it again but doesn't Dent 2 have the "weird" style of output gain where it controls the entire signal after dry/wet mix rather than the processed signal alone? Maybe that was just Decapitator...kPere wrote: Tue Sep 06, 2022 8:52 pm It's an old one, but Unfiltered Audio Dent 2 became my go to distortion plugin.
