So what's new? Doesn't Steinberg always release fixes just for their latest versions?

No.
Which you could well have found out yourself, when you take a look at the release notes of former versions.
E.g. latest version of Cubase 10.5 released 11th of March 2021, Cubase 11 initial release 11th of November 2020; latest version of Cubase 10 released 26th of March 2020, Cubase 10.5 initial release 13th of November 2019.
Etc. etc.

I stand corrected then.
Although I could not have found out myself because Steinberg only provides links for the release notes of versions 11 and 12 here: https://www.steinberg.net/cubase/release-notes/
And there have been no maintenance updates for version 11 since the release of Cubase 12 on March 2, 2022.

Cubase 11 is about the only one which hasn't seen updates after Cubase 12 has been released. And, you never know if they won't update it one more time. (I knew that you would pick the one version which hasn't seen any updates after the next one's release, by the way.

The only one that seems suspicious is dropping support for Absolute 4. This is a bit early for that, IMO, considering most virtual instruments in that bundle have not seen an upgrade, yet. In fact, I don't think any have.

"Notifications for Nothing" are annoying. Blocking me in return is a good way to avoid this.

...and thus one of the reasons I don't buy any plugin that doesn't come with serial or keyfile copy protection. It's always the honest who pay that get hurt, and the pirates just pirate the next thing to come along.ramseysounds wrote: Sat Aug 20, 2022 3:27 pm So as a user and purchaser of Padshop Pro, I find this quite an insult tbh
Vendor‑Dependent Copy Protection: Customers lose. Pirates win.
(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Do you need to reauthorize/reactivate your software when you reinstall?T-CM11 wrote: Sat Aug 20, 2022 3:46 pmPadshop and Padshop Pro are both v1.
Sounds like Steinberg is trying to save money (on support), using their new DRM as an excuse (without mentioning it).
Fine for me though, I've never needed technical support (for any software really).

Why? Are you seriously expecting to need technical support?ramseysounds wrote: Sat Aug 20, 2022 3:27 pmSo as a user and purchaser of Padshop Pro, I find this quite an insult tbh
Yes it is. They are up to v12 now and, honestly, I'm surprised they offer support for any other version. It very quickly gets too hard to have multiple versions installed on multiple platforms in multiple configurations, just to provide support for a version 99% of users have moved on from.T-CM11 wrote: Sat Aug 20, 2022 3:54 pmI was referring to some other programs on the list. Cubase 10.5 isn't that old...

I can aextrapolate from the fact I own more than 300 plugins and have needed technical support for any of them precisely never.
