Hey

Unfiltered Audio will soon release Needlepoint, a new vinyl emulation plugin based on physical modeling technology. Pretty feature-rich plugin with a lot of flexibility.

Certainly relatively high in price at the start, and two months later for $29, Plugin Alliance sales party olee ;)

i can't wait for their drum synth plug in. the bits of info i've heard about make it sound well stacked.

Good old Sonitex still holds its own today, so I'm not in a hurry to buy another vinyl plugin. But I'll definitely try the demo when Needlepoint is released.

I'm pretty well stocked with this sort of thing. Between speakerphone and vybez and Retro Color and sonitex and various others, I don't really see the need for more. I do enjoy all the things UA do, but the combinations of IR and simple waveshaping along with various models of digital codecs for sound compression that people have been using previously is probably flexible enough for my needs. I'll still check it out when it's released though. It'll have to be pretty swift to jump into that crowded market though .

What a shit GUI

Post

As the sound of vinyl is so much better than CD, i can finally play all my CDs and even mp3s through this and convince my Hifi fundamentalists that I have a high end player which costs them ten thousands of cash and me only 29… (I won’t tell them of course and let a cheap broken record turn to fool them…)

Perhaps you'll like it better in black:

Yeah well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

lo-fi-af was actually the first "return" to spectral since SpecOps. Most of what it does (aside from the iterative 0-shift) can be done with SpecOps, but it's a lot simpler and more optimized. We have two more plugins in what we're calling the "lo-fi-af trilogy" that will be out this year, and then we have a bunch of heavier stuff in the background, including SpecOps 2 and a drum synth. These are probably late 2023 releases if I had to guess.

WTaF happened to the plugin. I see it on Plugin Alliance but the link is dead. The project, as far as I can see, only exists in the ether.

What happened? Did they take it down? Too many bugs? Someone bought them out? What happened?

This is super f**king weird.
