If the extreme high end roll-off is caused by the Age setting, then try lowering the Global Strength.

Looks like about -1.7db at 15k. Doesn't really seem like a huge deal for a lofi plugin. I'm guessing it might be tough to implement as a config without mucking with the modeling algorithms.

Below is what it looks like on some pink noise in SPAN. I get there is some high frequency degradation with vinyl that can get worse over time, but they should have allowed the user to adjust it IMO.
Its modeled, I guess that is what happens on real vinyl…
And for adjustment, there are equalizers - most likely native in your DAW…

The pitch algorithm(sounds nothing like an old sampler like they claim)and the wow and flutter(it's periodic) are a little disappointing, other than that, it's a great plugin. The noise and clicks/dust sound very convincing.

Getting a lot of use out of that "Atlantic" algo in the distortion/comp section. Not sure what it has to do with a lathe though or vinyl itself. Never heard a cutting lathe or pressed vinyl produce distortion like that

Nice!! Very cool indeed.

Currently I only have iZotope Vinyl or Abbey Roads Vinyl for this kind of thing. They're not without their uses, definitely. Needlepoint seems like it has extra flexibility and would fit nicely in between the two.

Just started demoing Needlepoint tonight, seems pretty cool, but i was disappointed that you can't switch of the hi/low pass filter that is on the plugin.

It would be good to be able to switch it off so it could be used on the drumbus/mixbus for more than just a lo-fi/vintage sound.

Not even vinyl is low passed like that, you can get an incredible top end with a good deck and cartridge.

Seems a little short sighted, if people wanted to add just crackles, vibes, or whatever to any material they are forced into this low pass sound.

An auto-gain switch on the comp would be nice as well.

I do like the sound of the plugin, but with this permanent low pass it makes it a bit of a one trick pony for me.

The frequency response of vinyl goes far beyond the audible range. The frequency response of phono cartridges varies, and there are other variables too, both in the vinyl and playback equipment, but a decent modern cartridge will not show the kind of roll off exhibited by this plugin. The whole 'vinyl makes everything sound lo-fi' thing doesn't really stand up for the most part.

A proper vinyl emulation plugin should really be a phono cartridge emulation, with specific cartridges being modelled in the way that tape emulations model certain tape machines. Unfiltered Audio have alluded to that with the name Needlepoint, but their marketing indicates this is another crackle & noise plugin with a few extras and a 'lo-fi' EQ curve. If they did model a specific cartridge then I can't find that info anywhere.
Exactly

That's not what happens with vinyl at all, so the claim that its modeled is bogus.
