Serious?!? Since when?!?!

I've been waiting on something like this. I'm hoping it also does AU.

Interesting, it was completely useless before… Now I should give it a spin… Maybe they had a famous customer and asked her why he would not use it and finally found out… And as they had coded all ingredients anyway, it was an easy decision…
I am more curious why it took so long to realize that a severely limited tool does not help anybody, even if its free…

It doesn't look like it does. VST3 *only* from what I can see.

Unfortunately the macro only communicates the parameter values inside StudioRack and not outside. For example the parameter Tape Type of this VST3 plugin has three values:

I
II
IV

Inside StudioRack it shows these values correctly below the assigned macro knob. Outside StudioRack, in the DAW, it shows 0 - 1000. For example in the DAW value 440 is Tape Type II, but without opening the StudioRack GUI how will you know?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

This is nice.

I'll be labelled a traitor for saying it but this makes multiband setups in Reaper a lot easier. I love Reapers routing versatility and have plenty of templates etc but adding effects to a multiband patch could involve a fair bit of rerouting, re-pinning etc. This makes it helluva lot simpler.

Shame its only VST3 but times change, most of my primary effects have made the jump.

Drawback is, that you need at least Catalina… They forgot, that there are very good reasons to stick to Mojave… I need to wait until I upgrade my laptop…

Do be aware that the multiband splitting changes the original sound by a great margin without any processing applied due to the nature of the filter types and slopes they use (which they don’t disclose in the manual) for the multiband setup.

BlueCat just added parameter learning to Patchwork

and has its own MIDI bus, so dunno

Hahaha.. they are feeling the competition now.

support modern plugin standard (CLAP and AUv3) might have been more useful .... maybe

And thats a best outcome of what Waves did. There was no competition to PatchWork, now they have to make it even better and possibly lower the price finally at some sale.

Yeah, I wonder about that - gotta do some testing, but it's not unusable - I wouldn't do it on mixbus of course, but it sounded good on drum bus that I tried to mangle with it quickly yesterday.

I was using Dan Worrall approach, but it was pain in the ass to change the X-over frequency and was adding 4 extra tracks on my project, so I was using it only when really had to.

Well, this was actually ready before :-)

Indeed.

Out of interest I just tried a cancellation test and it nowhere near nulled. I tried UA Triad too and that was even worse, I guess gentler filter slopes.

I think it sounds fine for creative effects if you're aware of what's happening but would certainly be wary of building a mastering comp with it. :)
