Did that RX10 download work in trial mode? The lack of curiosity even more remarkable if so. (Am away from base this week so can’t try myself)
For years, I was a huge Izotope fan, and would regularly update Nectar, Neutron and Ozone the moment they came out. I also bought RX 8, which I find quite useful. (I also bought Vocalsynth 2 on a huge sale, even though I thought it was awful when I demoed it, just because I'm stupid and it was almost free. I still think it's awful.)

Then the subscription option started. Unlike many, I'm fine with a subscription option, and even considered subscribing myself, if the promised regular improvements actually materialized.

But at least as far as I have seen, and as sadly often seems to be the case, the start of the subscription option has, if anything, led to a slowing of new features and innovation. I didn't bother with Neutron 4, and looking again right now at the "new features" list just confirms my recollection that, to me at least, it seems to be basically nothing. There's nothing in RX10 that looks interesting to me either, and my excitement for Ozone 10 is decidedly low. I'll check it out once it's released, but I can't see ever subscribing to Izotope at this rate, or buying Ozone 10 unless there's something truly new (and a healthy upgrade discount).

The upside of all this: ever since I started becoming disillusioned with Izotope, I've started mixing and mastering with individual plugins rather than the Neutron or Nectar or Ozone suites, and getting at least as good results while learning a lot too. I still like those suites, but I no longer feel like they're the ultimate solution like I kind of used to.

+1, good summary. I have MPS4 myself which is a mature solution. I am seeing no reason to spend money on facelifts and transcription for English only.

Only the useless sound packs are missing from the overall picture.

That’s interesting that it’s taken the place of RX9 demo now but it hasn’t yet been officially released.

Let us know what you find. Spectral Recovery didn’t used to work all that well, I wonder if there is an improvement there now.

But sheesh, that’s not very exciting. What a dismal feature list.

What's New:
Text Navigation
Multiple Speaker Detection
Repair Assistant plug-in
Selection Feathering [NEW MODE]
Spectral Recovery [NEW ALGORITHM]
First-time User Experience
De-hum Dynamic Adaptive Mode [NEW MODE]
Stratus 3D and Symphony 3D are Apple Silicon native (Not sure why this is an RX10 feature)

This is not worth $149 to me, for an upgrade from RX9 Advanced, especially since I already own Stratus and Symphony 3D.

I upgraded from rx7 standard - feathering was something that I have long wanted and there will be a few other things. Guess I will find out if it was worth it over the next few months

Still no support for VST3 plugins in RX 10.

On an Apple Silicon Mac, when running native, RX doesn't support VST2 either. Only AU.

Bit of a .5 release... Nothing really blew me away. :(

Total cash grab.

I mostly use RX for touching up field recordings. Unless they develop a de-wind that actually works or a de-plane (De plane! De plane!) algorithm, I don't anticipate upgrading any time soon.

Any clue when we'll see Ozone 10 as they got announced the same time ?

Well it says 13 September, but it was also including RX10 with that so who knows?, but I would imagine sometime between now and then.

The new RX10 features like being able to distinguish different people's voices and the ability to search for specific words in a dialogue recording is pretty amazing tech. But it's aimed squarely at Post Production and Podcasting, which is where all the money is at these days.

I'd like to see what they do with Ozone 10. There's only so much you can do with continually improving a stereo widener and maximiser.
