Unused plugins. Why?

I think we all have plugins in our folders that we rarely or never use.
I have figured out why I don't use them.
1. Long plugin and/or preset loading times: Arturia.
2. CPU hogs: AA
3. Ugly or bad gui: PA Bettermaker
4. Too many features and options: Amplitude
5. Mispurchase: Baby Audio Taip
6. Too many: PA Knif Soma eq,
I think I have too many eqs I like and know better
Anyone similar experiences or examples?

I would say plugins that do not support a quick workflow are not on my "TOP 10 list" with some exceptions for mastering.

That will be Pigments for me, amazing synth for sound design but slow to load and when you make a complex patch (especially if it has granular layer) it can be CPU hog.

Sadly, Tokyo Dawn plugins. They give me too many options. Often, I just need a fast solution with one, two knobs.

The two main reasons are not listed yet: GAS and a collectors mind…
Especially when even good plugins are free or as cheap as a cup of tea…

collectors mind... i look at those 200 things in my native access i didn't want, but had no choice, because the four things i wanted (light trilogy & noire) and kontakt to run them were cheaper in the ultimate bundle than in separate purchases...Tj Shredder wrote: Tue Sep 06, 2022 12:37 pm The two main reasons are not listed yet: GAS and a collectors mind…
that's how i end up with stuff i didn't use... over and over again... thanks AAS, thanks Korg, thanks everyone whose bundles are basically the price of two or three of their plugins alone...

Luckily we do not have to dispose of unused plugins at a waste site,
no physical garbage,
no pollution!

Most of the plugins I own, but rarely or never use, were things that I didn’t specifically want, but came with a bundle.

because they don't fit this project.
they'll be used in the next project.

I've abandoned more than I've kept. Some reasons:
The copy protection mechanism is one that I don't want to support. In some cases the copy protection changed during the software's lifetime, other cases it was my own decision.
The software carries a large space/hard drive footprint, and I decided to streamline my "new machine" process of installation/setup/activation/install files backup.
Of course, there's also the "I just don't need this" factor.
