You are not. Nobody could hear or see that track, as it was withdrawn. From the competition as well as from soundcloud, afaik.

Well, for some reason SC won't let me continue commenting today?! Whatever the reasons, it makes it so difficult for me to go through the tracks, because I really want to tell you my thoughts... pity.

But at least I want to give some replies:
@doctorbob: Balancing out instruments always gets easier, if you let a track simmer for a day or two before listening to it again. While writing it we so often focus on a particular instrument or component and it gets hard to judge properly if it sits well with the rest or not.

@Vospi: Oh, man, the intro and outro of your track made me feel like this could be one of my all-time favorite OSC tracks, but the whole gen-Z middle section was literally impossible for me to sit through. It's okay, it's just me, but I do really love what you are capable of and would love to listen to more of what I can sit through, hahaha, and so much more than just that.

@bh9090: all you needed to do is stick with the 4 on the floor and you would've easily held up the beautifully magical composition of yours!!! GRRRR! Still deeply pretty!

@ChristopherWD: WOW! What? Legit! The OSC is a perfect opportunity to let this piece of yours be properly outstanding. Sounds and feels like a completely official "demo track" of V-Station. That guitar!?! Damn... :D

@mmGhost: How very flipping nice to hear something from you again, too! Your track has such a peculiar effect on me. Feels to me like being a little boy, riding on the shoulders of his father on a hike through the woods. When suddenly he decides to tease the little boy a bit, bouncing about, haha. But a curious sense of safety, care, love and strength just never goes away. Wonderful stuff!

I wanted to write comments under literally every track, but- well- SC was sparing you some of my impulses, hahaha...

Anyway, I have VOTED!

Many outstanding tracks, some proper surprises, overall a great quality of sound as a whole, speaking volumes about the quality of V-Station, but naturally also the quality of everyone here! I haven't been around enough for quite some time now, but this one was a wonderful reminder of great times with all of you!

Thanks Mr. T. I have been bounced my Soundcloud a number of times. Usually lasts 3 or 4 days, so you should be able to get back and comment then.

that's quite a nice compliment. for one thing i've had a lot of practice over the years... countless hours wasted on unmelodic throw away music ;)

in all seriousness - one thing i've come to realize is what most people call mixing... i don't really do that. i think what i do is more what people would call sound design. because i really don't know what i'm doing. for v-station all i used outside the synth was eq, some compression in places, but that's pretty much it. and when i say Eq i mean some high-pass filtering here, some slight resonant reduction in other places.

i guess i just try to make sounds that are interesting, and mostly i just copy Shpongle, Reso and Noisia

Post

There are some people here who just have that magic touch when mixing. (Not including me here though!). I try my best, sometimes I get close to a decent mix, but usually - well... meh!

One thing I love about OSC is hearing music through everybody else's ears. If we all had the same ears, music would be very boring.

V-Station is a rocker freebie, but it's built in EQ seemed backwards to me. The env's were snappy enough, especially for single instance drums, but I had to ReaEQ the heck out of it at times. I'm lame.

Even after OSC, I'm still having some fun with V. Novation is top notch.

Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression
