Haha, but I still have Absynth5 in my Native Access. (Though it's not installed)
Let me guess - the next one they remove from products will be FM8

Sorry, MassiveX triggers me.Tobi MM wrote: Massive X was not that awful itself - a decent synth (and an awful preset browser)... after three or four release date delays... and if you hate or forget the original one and don't want a successor.
But the time the original hat it's victory run, there weren't either Sylenth, Serum, Pigments nor Dune. Nowadays though...
It's by far the most horrible soft synth I know. It sounds wonderful, the effects are amazing, but the gui and ux is hell that I get mad using it. I deleted it.
Why it's the most horrible synth I know you might ask? Because it has potential and NI (not blaming the actual devs here) just keeps it in a beta phase forever. It's hard to watch, that's why I find it horrible.

Is there any new GR6 content? When they released it it was said that they will add new models over time. I'm wondering what happend.

Yes but I always assumed or heard that once he left NI he was unwilling to update the code, as a contractor for whatever reason.
Turns that may not have been the case.
(ftr I never heard this from an NI employee).

So yeah, they didn't want to pay him to keep it current.zvenx wrote: Wed Sep 07, 2022 7:18 pmYikes.dayjob wrote: Wed Sep 07, 2022 6:42 pm Absynth has been removed from the NI Product Line.

So it not having an update was not a refusal on his part to do so..

I am petty enough to want to go through their forums to find the post where a NI employee in a Kore thread flatly claims that there will be no more product discontinuations. The facts are what they are, NI have some great products, and pretty much everything outside of Reaktor, Kontakt, Maschine, and Traktor has the possibility of being discontinued, deprecated etc.
They're also so money hungry that they're last in line every time for any change to the OS or platforms, this is in their DNA which just sucks, you get late adoption of resizable GUI's, VST3, Apple Silicon etc. and none of that was surprising if you were around for the OS 9 to X or PPC to x86, or even 32 bit to 64 transitions. I'm a long time Komplete user since version 2, but I think I'm jumping off the ship. Kontakt will continue to be used but there isn't any fun for me in waiting around for NI to catch up anymore, and there are literally hundreds of plug ins and developers to choose from these days.

IMHO Synth nerds should go with Arturia. They do synth stuff. Pigments and the V Collection keeps getting better

Not sure I've ever been so underwhelmed. The new industry grouping of Plugin Alliance, Izotope and Native Instruments is ... is ... I can't find the right adjective.

Curious to know if the K7 factory library is compatible with K6 one or if it is a "Komplete" replacement.
Also, with K13 if you got CE you could only get updates to CE, while if you got - for example - Ultimate you could still crossgrade to next version Standard. One of the reasons not to go CE... then you can only stay CE.

Guys, I just use Kontakt, Massive (original flavor), and FM8. Are the GUIs on these three now resizeable, or not? I play in a covers band - that one "feature" is really the only thing I want, and I can't figure it out from NI's website.

There's literally zero reasons to upgrade to Komplete 14lnikj wrote: Wed Sep 07, 2022 8:15 pm Not sure I've ever been so underwhelmed. The new industry grouping of Plugin Alliance, Izotope and Native Instruments is ... is ... I can't find the right adjective.

Ah and the "what's new for me" page is a huge step backwards... with K13 you could see any combination of upgrade, now you can only see what you get related to what you have already. It could be more straight but I preferred the more "komplete" previous version of the page.

I've become so heavily invested in NI with Maschine mk3 (peviously mk1 and mk2), a gazillion expansions, Komplete 13 (upgraded basically every year or two during the sale since K8), and a Komplete Kontrol S61 mk2. Now, I find myself almost never using any of these products, aside from the occasional Kontakt guitar library, and with the direction they're going, no desire to give them any more money. I'm seriously considering selling the entire lot to the highest bidder and being done with them altogether.

FM8 is supposed to get an update to apple silicon native before the end of this year. Absynth will probably remain in native access for a while.. until it's not compatible with operating systems and/or rosetta gets killed. NI Kore2 stayed in NI Service Center for quite a while.dune_rave wrote: Wed Sep 07, 2022 7:44 pm Haha, but I still have Absynth5 in my Native Access. (Though it's not installed)
Let me guess - the next one they remove from products will be FM8

Already compatible with Apple Silicon native M1
Kontakt
Guitar Rig 6
Will be compatible with Apple Silicon native M1 in early Q4/2022
FM8
Komplete Effects
Komplete Kontrol
Maschine 2
Massive
Massive X
Will be compatible with Apple Silicon native M1 in early 2023
Reaktor 6

Please note that the list above provides an estimation and is subject to change. We'll update here once a native M1 support is added to each product. Thanks all again for your patience!
