Hi!
I want a free VST that will replay what I has played in real-time.
For n bars VST is recording and n bars after that is playing what was recorded and after that again recording-repeating-recording-repeating indefinitely.
Like a delay which repeats exactly what was played once with a setting of a number of bars.
Thank you

Google 'looper VST'

Or even just the forum search:
search.php?keywords=looper&terms=all&au ... mit=Search
Audio Damage ENSO is the only one I've used. It does the job, for sure, but might be more complicated than you need.

Well, any delay capable to delay those n bars can do it. Just mute it every n bars for n bars…

I've tried to use InstaLooper and was not able to make it work as I want.
I do not want to loop my guitar many times, just repeat once, like this:
Bar 1 - I am playing my guitar and hear it in the playback
Bar 2 - Bar 1 is repeated exactly as it was, without any effects or changes
Bar 3 - I am playing again, only my live guitar is played
Bar 4 - Bar 3 is repeated exactly as it was, without any effects or changes
etc.
And I want do to this without pressing any buttons in DAW after the play button.
Also I do not have access to automation becase I have only cubase Elements.
So I do not need to set up a loop that will be repeated indefinitely, but only once. And I was not able to figure out how to do this by tutorials by some complex loopers.
I do not have much experience with DAWs and none with loopers so any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you

Then you want a delay with 1-bar's worth of delay time, and no feedback or repeats.missionpath wrote: Fri Sep 16, 2022 3:35 pm I've tried to use InstaLooper and was not able to make it work as I want.

Cubase Elements has automation...missionpath wrote: Fri Sep 16, 2022 3:35 pm Also I do not have access to automation becase I have only cubase Elements.
Even the versions they give away with hardware, Cubase AI and LE have automation. It's, like, the most basic functionality. You can learn about it here: https://steinberg.help/cubase_elements/ ... ion_c.html

Vallhalla delay is great for that stuff , can go up to 8 bars , feedback just above 100 , set to hifi mode +some drive adjust age and let it loop for a while to add some crunch

Yeah, you don't really need any automation or anything if the plan is to be silent during the playback cycle. In order to hear the sound while you play, you'd just need to make sure that you have a dry signal coming through too. Any tempo synced delay with length set to one bar, dry out at 100% and feedback at 0% should do it.whyterabbyt wrote: Fri Sep 16, 2022 5:42 pmThen you want a delay with 1-bar's worth of delay time, and no feedback or repeats.missionpath wrote: Fri Sep 16, 2022 3:35 pm I've tried to use InstaLooper and was not able to make it work as I want.

The grandmother of all loopers is Möbius. It’s free, however it is 32 bit only. At least it is at this moment. Word on the street is the author is making it open source… let me check to see if my info is correct… yup. Doesn’t seem to have gone anywhere yet. Anyway, I had it working using J-Bridge, but these days I’m using MSuperLooper, which is great but I don’t think can easily do what you want, at least not automatically… Anyway, I’ve not tried it in a long time, but it is hands down the best and most complete audio looper software. There’s a big community of users who could help you configure it to do whatever you want. It’s got a whole scripting language so you can get it to do custom behavior.
