Sorry, I didn't mean "live", I meant for recording...
The whole point of the pedal is to play *through* it (for recording) isn't it?

I have a Zoom multi-FX pedal: DAW -> RME (128 buffer) -> ADAT Behringer 8200 -> Zoom pedal... and back in. I can route any audio through the pedal and don't notice any latency when playing live (I hear the effect at the same moment that I play a note on a keyboard)...jbraner wrote: Fri Sep 09, 2022 5:36 pm I wonder how much latency this introduces (?)
The audio is going out from the DAW, through the plugin, into the hardware (via USB) and then back - so it won't be insignificant![]()
I know, blablabla latency, but if I don't notice it, it isn't there.

that would be either as the interface, why would you add an interface if you're going to the pedal first anyway?
or if you have a soft synth line you want it on you use the plug in version.

I think the USB Big Muff is a good idea. Re-amping is becoming increasingly common in home studios and the tools needed to do that are still prohibitively expensive for most. It seems that it can be an interface, so if you want to use it during tracking, I figure you'd probably use it as your front end, not as an insert.
I think I'd find it useful. I use my Analog Heat in a lot of the ways, in which this seems ideal.

yeah, and more than anything, it's cool to see ehx going somewhere new, is this their first "daw" related product?

Because this pedal probably isn't as good an interface (drivers, latency times etc etc) as the interface a lot of us are using now.that would be either as the interface, why would you add an interface if you're going to the pedal first anyway?
Don't get me wrong - I think it's a great idea, and if the latency is good enough for tracking, that's great!
I was just wondering - that's all

anyone already has an lpd eighty7 dual channel and could make it chug on a low loudness level?
otherwise, very tempting 300bucks to spent.

Yeah if you eat Muff for breakfast and it's 24/7 in your pedalboard or on your desk, the idea is ok.
And, it's probably time all pedals and external fxs become soundcards too.
Analog Heat demonstrated that you can pack several analog fxs in (what mostly it is) a computer peripheral, add total recall, several cv/exp ports, and leave a mark.

btw the way - why are people bashing strymon? is it just because they are expensive?

The way it works is when things become ubiquitous people start to hate them because the sounds become cliche - it's a cycle that repeats over and over that is exacerbated by the cost.DrGonzo wrote: Sun Sep 11, 2022 6:42 am btw the way - why are people bashing strymon? is it just because they are expensive?
The thing is, those that hate almost always have a louder voice than those that are out there just making music.
I have never tried strymon stuff, don't get out much
I play guitar

I've thought pretty seriously about trying out the Teisco interface pedal for $129, don't think you can use it to apply HW pedals to your DAW tracks, probably. But it could be used for a bunch of other stuff.

Regarding Strymon, I love my Strymon pedals and eurorack, though I do think the UAFX amp sims beat out the Iridium soundwise.

But on the other hand, I don't think I've ever seen hate on Eventide.

A pretty cool tape effect pedal, seems like. I'll probably buy one at some point.
