If you had mine you would not hear very well at all !!!!!!!!!!

TheNeverScene wrote: Fri Sep 09, 2022 9:51 pmV-Station is a rocker freebie, but it's built in EQ seemed backwards to me. I had to ReaEQ the heck out of it at times. I'm lame.
totally. i had no idea what the knobs really were doing. i honestly used the filter as 'eq' sometimes. and i automated the filter like crazy. used FM to do "high-pass" sounding sounds. again, just hacking my way through it per usual

One thing V-Station tought me waaaaaaaaaay after the OSC fact is the importance of ring-mod in some nasty Reese "nying-nying" basses, you know THAT nying-nying sound? lol Didn't use it on my track, along with a pretty filthy Hoover, but I've been chasing both of those for years. Looking forward to the next Surge month! Modular is way over my head.
Just a touch of EQ and a tickle of compression

But modular would give you this AM goodness like crazy though. ;)
It's not that tough, to be honest, seriously.

I love music, worked with a number of music/rhythm/dance games like Pump It Up, In The Groove, Cytus and Deemo, and teach music production.

I've voted! Soundcloud did the thing to me too where it stopped me from writing comments after a few...

Thank you to this whole community for being so encouraging.

@mmghost and @taronium -> how do you guys mix so well. really nice stuff!
that's quite a nice compliment. for one thing i've had a lot of practice over the years... countless hours wasted on unmelodic throw away music ;)

in all seriousness - one thing i've come to realize is what most people call mixing... i don't really do that. i think what i do is more what people would call sound design. because i really don't know what i'm doing. for v-station all i used outside the synth was eq, some compression in places, but that's pretty much it. and when i say Eq i mean some high-pass filtering here, some slight resonant reduction in other places.

i guess i just try to make sounds that are interesting, and mostly i just copy Shpongle, Reso and Noisia
