Hey everyone,
Beat Scholar now has a product page on KVR! And hopefully we'll be expanding our catalogue here as time goes by.
If you tried Beat Scholar and feel like leaving a review + a few honest words it would be much appreciated!

I like it but I really wish it came with way more kits and patterns. This does it make it fun to make your own patterns though, unlike most.

It shines with something like Atlas as sound source…

We've updated Beat Scholar to version 1.0.8 with some new stuff, including a few features that were requested here:
1.Added a MIDI FX plugin for Logic Pro (included in the installer)
2. Added solo/mute buttons for individual drums
3. Moved MIDI mappings to be stored/locked along with the kit
And lots of bug fixes.

I will certainly keep watching Beat Scholar as it is in interesting concept and a great first release, but I already have XO, ATLAS, Playbeat 3, Drum Computer etc. so I think it would either need to do 'a bit more' for me at this time...make a great iPAD app, I would probably go that route if it was AU3.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

1.0.9 now great work on updates, would a simple ADSR be worthwhile for each drum slot?

enjoying this quite a bit - one thing I would love to have, or have missed, is a method for automating and/or playing preset changes for kits and patterns.

A simple ADSR could be great
it's definitely a feature we're considering adding at a later stage. The purpose of the sampler was originally to get you started with composing beats without needing other samplers... but we see many people that like working with the built in sampler and just wish it had more functions. So we'll be improving it constantly.
Re. automation - for changing patterns you can use the midi notes that appear on the bottom right of a pattern pad! Automating kit changes is an interesting idea, though it could be problematic to perform in realtime due to having to load all the samples of the new kit.
We will be adding automation features within Beat Scholar soon, so you could implement differences in sounds across patterns.

You care about customer suggestions and update pretty fast if it makes sense, that's great.
Solo / mute is a great addition!
I am not surprised Waves worked with you

thanks re the automation. I thought there would be a sample loading issue but doing it by hand it is not as bad as all that. Also I am mainly wanting to change kits slightly eg imagine say a gamelan slowly introducing more and more agogo bells - not huge samples and only a few changing per kitOrLubianiker wrote: Thu Sep 15, 2022 9:31 am A simple ADSR could be greatit's definitely a feature we're considering adding at a later stage. Thanks for the kind words
We're new at the business of owning a company and releasing our own product, but we've always aspired to listen to users and we don't assume that we know everything... far from it
Our "Flagships" were Bass Slapper and Bass Fingers which we developed from A-Z. From the basic concept until the last marketing videos.
But Eyal and myself have been involved in Waves plugins such as CLA Mixhub, Berzerk Distortions, Flow-Motion Synth, Scheps Omni Channel and more... those are the ones I remember from the top of my head. I went on to also develop hardware for them for a couple of years and Eyal went on to work for companies like Xfer and Pitch Innovations.
And now we're back working together!

I guess the easiest way to do that now would be to use multiple instances of Beat Scholar... if you're not using the sampler (more specifically the aux section) , Beat Scholar has minimal CPU impact so you can open quite a lot of them.fairlyclose wrote: Thu Sep 15, 2022 11:34 amthanks re the automation. Currently there's no way to rotate the pizzas, but that's a wonderful idea that sounds right up our alleysteff3 wrote: Thu Sep 15, 2022 11:44 am Hi,
is there a way to rotate the pizza pieces? I think that would be really helpful feature, if it is not already there.
Thanks
