Eased back on purchases a bit with not knowing what's going on with energy prices, but luckily found enough down the back of the virtual sofa for a 2hp VCO. Annoyingly I only have 1hp spare on my skiff so will have to lose something, probably send the Rings clone to pastures new as I prefer the sounds from the Pluck and Bell anyway. That would grant me a mahoosive 7hp of space for something else...

Had to look up the Tyme Sefari mk2. Definitely looking forward to any videos/audio posted.
I used the TSmk2 on a lot of tracks in the past, this is the most recent.

Around the 15:30mark you'll hear some gritty aliasing and glitchy looping. That's the TSmk2.

I'm planning some videos for the near future. These are scripted, so they will take a little longer than my improvised stuff but maybe a track or two will come out of that process.

I love the design of the TS mk2 -- very patch programmable, it acts like a sampler/looper/delay depending on switches and gates and knobs instead of different modes.

I just wish it had a somewhat bigger buffer and higher max sample rate (and the second channel available without needing the expander). I like that lo-fi flavor sometimes but I would prefer to have more control over how dirty it is, from A Little Bit Dusty down to Is It Even Still Audio? But it doesn't do A Little Bit Dusty, its highest is That's Pretty Damned Filthy.

If IME even planned a mk3, they'd probably give it a preset system, a tiny screen, more features, less knob-per-function goodness and I wouldn't like it.

I forgot how much I loved the TS mk2...
Coming from the TS mk1, I originally thought the max buffer size was too much! Now that I'm using it for longer loops, I can understand wanting more, especially if you are recording little snippets to different parts of the buffer. When I had a Morphagene, I thought it was a good counter-part, for longer and cleaner loops. I may still need to replace the Morphagene but recently, I've been playing with asynchronous loops on my Octatrack and when it comes to recording samples live, I really prefer the OT, to the Morphagene.

I agree though about the possibility of an mk3. I like the mk3 Hertz Donut and Piston Honda okay but I never use the presets and rarely get very deep into the menus. I ended up getting NOS Hertz Donut and Piston Honda mk2 units and the mk3 units are unracked at the moment. Now I have all three versions of the Hertz Donut... :help:

I had HD mk2 and mk3 side by side for a while to decide which I liked more. Both have their charms but I wound up with the mk2, until I turned traitor for Shapeshifter anyway :D

I had Phonogene for a while and that was fun. At some point I decided I'd just use Bitwig Grid for loops.

I'd love to try a Piston Honda mk1, but I almost never see them available. Current Reverb price for one is $650 and I don't think I want it that much.

Got a Crave for £90 so it’s going to be 3340 city round here soon (the 2hp VCO uses one).

My PHmk1 needs repairs and I just haven't had time to work on it. It's kinda dead to me at this point.
I don't think it sounds very different from the PHmk2 but they both have some pretty weird quirks. I certainly don't think that $650 is a reasonable price for a PHmk1, when I've seen mk2s for ~$400 recently. A couple of times, I've thought about putting together a complete Harvestman system (all mk1 and mk2 models) but now that people are starting to hype the price on those modules, I think I'm happy with what I have.

The Hertz Donut mk1 is still my favorite euro oscillator. It sounds very different from the mk2 or mk3 and feels much more immediate (though it has it's own quirks). I wouldn't say it sounds better but I've used it in most patches over the last 14 years, so I know it very well. It's a big part of my sound.

Crave arrived. Got to say it sounds fantastic. Just using it for bass voices and altering the cutoff, frequency and the LFO rate from VCV and it go straight to the top of my "must use on a track" pile of hardware shizzle.

If I didn’t already have things covered with Elektron boxes including Syntakt, plus TR-6S (delivered Monday) and Pulsar-23 inbound (today it seem :hyper: ) then I’d be interested in this.

I think I saw you on the Elektron boards earlier. There’s some very disgruntled folks but I can’t judge them as I wasn’t eagerly anticipating this. It also seems in line with their -logue line, so I actually think it makes sense.

If I had no modern drum machines, I’d be all over this.

I missed his videos before hitting the purchase button, but I wish I had started there. His Pulsar-23 BD module video was more performance than tutorial, but I loved it.

This, I think, is going to be very fun.
