What's misguided is these companies who release "AI" products claiming they're the best thing since sliced bread, but in the end, they're mundane, unoriginal products which suckers buy anyway because they're clueless.
If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit.

U-he + Bitwig (anyway not the most attractive marriage) creating a new plugin format
is also hyped quite a lot, many a man wondering whether this is an attempt of late-comer
Bitwig to attract some more attention with the goal to get a higher ranking in the charts
of daw devs or in other words more customers!?
As long as this format will not lower plugin prices and CPU consumption
drastically, what would be the bonus for a user/customer?
Frankly speaking a product by Bitwig won't make me CLAP my hands
just like it didn't when Bitwig released a new daw so late,
I mean the world didn't really need a new daw and the product
was not revolutionary, so....?!
You don't have to pay for music today any more,
you can listen to it whether old or new release for free
thanks to internet.
Music more and more is and will be produced in the box,
so the tools used for creating a free of charge product
in overabundance
will have to be free of charge sooner or later, too and
also surplus will support this progress.
I guess that in 3 years every plugin with
a price higher than USD 10 will be regarded as usuriousness,
maybe some top notch products only...

Actually i think plugins in general are very hyped, by their own companies obviously but I think people buy too many plugins, the market is kind of eating itself to the ground. And a lot can be done with what the DAW comes with.
Not to say they are useless or not necessary in many cases, it is just that there are so many it is overwhelming.

Bitwig is probably the best DAW for someone who wants a lot of control on a deep, technical level. CLAP takes that even further. These new standard can be hit or miss but when they hit, such as with ARA, we all win.Leo1999 wrote: Fri Sep 16, 2022 5:16 am U-he + Bitwig (anyway not the most attractive marriage) creating a new plugin format

However, ARA fills an actual need beyond just being a vanity project for Celemony + PreSonus.
Also, it's an extension of VST3, not really a new standard on its own.

News flash: "Louder" isn't the only way in which production techniques (and also technology) evolved.
And, if you really think that productions in 1979 sounded better than today, then... *fill in what you feel like is appropriate here*

I thought the chart was more 2019 looking like 2009 but was actually more around 2005 people started discussing the rectangular waveform effect of mixing with no dynamic range, so that's when some people started to pull back and streaming services started tampering with playback because of it.

Is music about sound quality first and foremost?
There was a time when creativity played an important role,
when singers knew to sing (without Autotune) in a unique and original way
Little Richard, Ray Charles, Elvis, James Brown, Paul McCartney,
Marvin Gaye, Sly Stone, Ian Gillan, Robert Plant, Stevie Wonder, Prince,
Chaka Khan, Sade, Mick Jagger, Freddy Mercury and many more
When musicians knew to play keys
Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Jon Lord, Herbie Hancock, Chick Korea, Sly Stone,
Ray Manzareck, George Duke, Jan Hammer, Steve Winwood, Billy Preston and many more
When Drummers knew to play drums
Mitch Mitchell, Billy Cobham, John Blackwell, Keith Moon, Ian Paice, Bonham,
Andy Newmark, Terry Bozzio, Ringo Star, Dave Garibaldi and many more
and the list goes on and on
When a song was more than just verse and refrain, but also bridge and sometimes
Intro, outro and solo part and creative arrangements
When albums with 8, 9, 10 or more songs were produced and you could
listen from the first to the last song with pleasure
When song writing was good
Visions Stevie Wonder
Imagine John Lennon
Everyday People Sly and the Family Stone
These are the makings of you Curtis Mayfield
All along the watchtower Bod Dylan
When I'm 64 The Beatles
I could never take the place of yr man Prince
Russians Sting
And many more
I am looking forward to getting some equivalent examples
from the past 10 years

Musicians and songwriters do not start and end with any particular decade. There are plenty of good ones still around. If you don't know where to look, too bad you
