"This is a stupid thread."

Seconded. Overhyped is a word that's overhyped, similar to underrated. Have to laugh every time I see Youtube comments banging on about stadium-filling, million-selling bands of yesteryear being "underrated". Usually it means the commenter hasn't heard of them, usually because they're so young. Overhyped is a similar phrase - just a reason to slag other peoples' favourites for no other reason than trolling. Lots of which has been done in this thread...

...personally i think ALL software is overhyped. Except the software that I use.

- Valhalla reverbs. They sound good. Very good. At first try I found them jawdropping. But the fact is that on good monitors, they fall short against higher-priced reverbs. My opinion is that they are the best possible quality budget reverbs, but they’ll never be the best reverbs on the market. And when reading KVR, that’s what you’re lead to believe sometimes. Sorry, but I don’t think so.

I am interested to know what higher-priced reverbs you compared Valhalla to and Valhalla fell short.
I have pretty good monitors (Genelec 8351B + 7360A sub and Amphion One18) and Valhalla reverbs sound quality is on par with my other higher-priced reverb plugins, they all sound different but to me, Valhalla definitely not lower quality.

Granted, I use mostly Seventh Heaven Pro and the good old Lexicon PCM Native the most if I want authentic space emulation.
don't even bother, that was total nonsense.

Not the only one currently.

Someone is obviously bored and opens up a new one of that kind every day.

my creativity in making meaningful sentences

but I won't join and contribute
so I keep on moaning
thread is stupid
more than 100 stupid replies
threads are good only when people
like what I like, when they share my
opinion and repeat what I wrote
I need a lot of recognition
and thread is stupid
I have no idea for a good topic,
as an artist you sometimes have
these moments with no ideas
so my emptiness, boredom and loneliness
make me feel like a victim
there's only moaning left
let me tell you one thing
thread is stupid! lol

no kidding, plugins want to be sold,
call it marketing, promotion or hype
I think there are three ways to present plugins
by the dev
newsletter, homepage, yt video, ads, trial versions

by an influencer or professional
there are several popular channels on yt
or a plugin is presented by a prof mixing engineer

by users
plugins are discussed on yt, kvr, social media...
some like the plugin, some do not
devs have fans and haters
not every plugin is for everyone

btw it was fun to read some posts in this thread

Post

Lol, what a ridiculous thread, a bunch of teenagers spitting at plugins they probably never used correctly "I don't like this one", "the color is awful", etc...   Autotune, Diva, etc...ok ,I love the "we probably don't hear Diva on the radio", Wouhahahahhaha ! You made my day, go back to school

Arguments are overrated, too. They are just clouds of words that make sense to the speaker.

We should better talk about measures here. They make things seem big or also trashy in comparison.

I don't want to argue about bad taste and a lack of sensitivity anymore here. Some people also think that Fastfood is delicious and the companys do their best to make them think that way.

Post

The most ridiculous thing about this thread are posts
that show there are people who can't accept different views
and think what they consider stupid automatically is stupid
and think their wisdom is the benchmark.

You should try some punctuation characters for a change.

I’m having so much fun with those pedantic KVR "classic" teachers.
They know.
So they speak, you shut up. And sometimes if backfires at them when another classic user pops up.
I simply don’t get why they’re here. They’re here to correct people who are wrong I think. Nothing to learn from talk, no need to improve anything, they know everything.
Good laugh here. I will never stop taunting them. :D
One day maybe people will be able to say what they want to say here.

Sure.
I need to apologize. I’m so sorry that I think Valhalla are not as good sounding as Relab verbs, contrary to what you read everywhere on KVR. Everybody here says nobody needs another reverb. I’m not convinced.
If you say this is nonsense, I must be wrong.
Sorry again.
This is classic KVR.

I really enjoyed this comment also.
Since I’m the one who said I doubt Diva may be used on most hits you hear on the radio today (exactly what I meant), I’m the teenager who needs to go back to school here.
Well, I’m 40, started making music at 11, purchased Diva about ten years ago and sold it as it sounded too old-fashioned to my tastes. I’m signed to Sony BMG just fyi. I work every day with international artists, and talk with them about what they use or not all day long. :D
But if you think I’m not aware of the truth, then you may be right. I need to rethink my choices and I’ll tell them all what’s right.
EDIT : oh by the way, at my school, I got a sound engineer degree in 2005.

this post whelmed me, by just the right amount, not over or under.
:ud:

On KVR there are some obviously overhyped products and brands.

U-He is very obvious nowadays, Rapid was the hype for a while, just like Pigments.
Unfiltered Audio was overhyped a while back, just like Fuse Audio, and now Toneboosters probably.
Also, Bitwig seems to have replaced the Reaper hype nowadays.

The trend seems to be that smaller devs get all the praise, while big brands are burned down consequently. Popularity seems the antichrist here.

It's also funny how each forum has their own (over)hyped products. On GS you'll find a lot of other overhyped stuff, and devs that are popular on KVR are either hardly mentioned or even ignored completely on other forums, and vice versa.

Luckily we can all demo and decide for ourselves. Don't believe the hype.

Wait, some of you talk to musicians? My mom told me never to do that.
