To believe in redemption by technology is always childish magical thinking. History proves that perfectly. It can help us but never replaced creativity and responsibility.

My first reaction was that I don't like it.
But then I read your post where you suggested
to combine and mix different vocals.
Background vocals with the voice of Stevie Wonder, Prince, George Michael, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and Chaka Khan would be like a dream come true.
I wouldn't like my lead vocals to sound like Stevie Wonder though, because that's not me, not on lead vocals, especially lead vocals play a main role and should be authentic imo.
But creating 6 tracks with 6 different voices for background vocals and let them sing different harmonies or pitch them.
I like the idea.
Imo this plugin should focus on background vocals / choir primarily

i doubt it, older generations never realised that guitar solos are terrible
Maybe this is a reference to what I said in another topic, and maybe you jumped to a conclusion that’s never been there.
I was talking tastes.
First, I’m nearly 41, not what I’d call young. Then I was raised with rock n roll. I love rock and metal. But I simply don’t enjoy the solo guitar parts. To me that sounds random, unmusical and useless. This is some "vibe" I don’t get. My father was enjoying them a lot like it’s the most awesome solo he’s ever heard as he was a player himself, my best friend is always trying to replay them, and I’m like
I was talking tastes, nothing more than tastes, so some people can admit there can be things they don’t understand but are really enjoyable to other peoples in other styles. That was really not what was showing up there...
You love guitar solos ? Good for you !!

Well, as far as I’m concerned, I’m not interested AT ALL by this project.Leo1999 wrote: Thu Sep 22, 2022 7:30 am What is getting more and more popular?
AI, it kinda replaces an mixing engineer
Plugins as correcting tools to hide lack in
well treated rooms, good recording techniques, playing
or performing skills, like Autotune on vocals
Close emulations, I do not get the always repeated question
does it come close to the real thing? truly speaking.
Either a plugin works for you or not.
The majority will never ever see a real unit
and if a plugin emu works for you well,
will it all of a sudden not work any more,
when people confirm
it's not very close to the real thing?!
Is it time for a SUPER plugin that analyzes your
vocal track and makes it sound like Elvis, Bruce Springsteen,
Janis Joplin or whoever
Drums like Bonham or Prince Linn Drums style?
Make the bass slap like Larry Graham or Marcus Miller or...
Guitar like Hendrix, Van Halen or...
Piano like Bill Evans, Chick Korea, Herbie Hancock or...
To be able to play an instrument is less important today
and everyone can become a music producer and with
Super plugin audio production could be raised to
the next level.
Maybe not only with ability to adapt or change to
the playing style of an artist, but also soundwise.
One plugin is already used and has uniformed the vocals.
The reference artist is called Autotune.
When used as an effect it always sounds pretty similar,
so why not expanding this habit to other instruments.
You play guitar either on synth or real guitar,
but want it to sound and be performed like by
Ingwie Malmsteen or Ritchie
Blackmore? No problem with super plugin.
You could create the band of your dreams:
Oscar Peterson on piano, Bonham on drums,
Annie Lennox on vocals, Flea on bass, Al di Meola on guitar.
You can't play Flamenco, but want to add a touch of it
to a latin style mix?
Just track the basic idea and then select Paco de Lucia.
And in case kind of copyright could be a problem,
just name Barry White Mr Low or Prince Purple Pain.
Plugin analyzes audio and changes it to your artist's style and sound
and even gives you different variations that one could select.
I suppose a plugin like this could be done easily today,
hope it will be released soon
What do you think which dev will release this kind of plugin?
It's just a question of time...
Izotope, Waves, Sonible or...?
AI plugins have no use here. Good EQ, good compressor, good limiter, good reverb, good delay... The rest is simply creativity.
Singing like another artist is a goal I don’t get. Are you creating music or copying music ? In which case would it be useful ? A special event ? Not into this.
I’ll pass, sorry.

Which bit of 'there is no such plugin, it is entirely imaginary, and noone is making it' needs reinforcing, I wonder.

There is no project. Its entirely imaginary. Its 'this plugin' for people who saw three pictures made by Midjourney or Dall-E and decided AI would tie their shoelaces for them.DJErmac wrote: Thu Sep 22, 2022 2:45 pm Well, as far as I’m concerned, I’m not interested AT ALL by this project.

Why do we need emulations of a Fender Rhodes or Steinway grand?
Why do many people use autotune to correct their vocals,
maybe because they do not know to sing properly?
You accept the emulation of a Hammond B3, but at the same time
you criticize a plugin that could turn every voice into Barry White?
An organ is an instrument and there are different organs with
different characters and sound, just like a voice is an instrument with
different character and sound.
You want a choice of different e-pianos,
but you dislike a choice of different voices?!
Ok, I see.
You obviously have not read all my posts
and I am not going to repeat.
It will s not copying at all, it's a creativity tool,
just as legit as using a Fender Stratocaster or
do you also dislike guitarists using a strat,
famous Hendrix used a Strat and one could
accused of imitating him. Nonsense!
