where is the free vst plugin that imports youtube audio by creating a virtual soundcard or input device

Not sure about VSTs that do this. Audacity, as a standalone can capture audio played on a computer. Ableton live can work with some video formats--maybe there is an app that can convert Youtube videos to such a format that would work in your DAW, but Audacity is the easiest way to go.
CHOOS might have an idea for you, as I see he often has captured audio that he puts in his DAW to analyze for sound design purposes.

Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

I tried all sorts of software solutions to try and do this, in the end I just bought a cheap USB sound-card. Its also a USB hub and does the job.....................

This. It's not difficult and there are loads of them.
I've even found downloaders for .wavs and other formats. I guess a plugin doing it might be 1 or 2 steps quicker but that's all. Paste URL, pick quality, convert, download, load into your DAW. not difficult.
As for ads - I never found the ads interupted a downloader. By mistake I once converted a 1.5 hour long youtube thing and it did it in one go.

This.
There are some excellent command prompt downloaders that will grab whole videos or audio from them in seconds.
Brave. Haven't seen an advert since I started using it. Though you shouldn't be live-tracking downloadable content.

If you have Mac, check out Blackhole, a OS wide solution that allows the user to route audio signals through a virtual sound card:

Is the original poster going to come back or not.
VB virtual audio cable with asio4all splitting your ins from vb and outs to your soundcard is how I do it.
