I have never had UAD but I had Powecore as they had a USP of the Virus synth….frankly by the end other providers native synths were just as good or better than the DSP driven stuff.
I think you'd like most of them - all very high quality, especially the UAD developed ones.

I'm sure there some other options that are in the ball park, but UAD are consistently so good I've never felt the need to buy many mixing plug ins from other places.

I would concede that the extra quality is a bit lost when using these on electronic music tracks - but I think it really shines on recorded material and also on buses which will have more complex material and dynamics than individual tracks..

:hihi:

Well... now you to can get the chance to become a UAD fanboy too.

They have some really unique plug ins, and a generally vary high standard.

I am sure I would like them and that they are very high quality, but they would have to be a lot better than (for example) Softube stuff as you can't just buy them in a 'no brainer' sale (the reason I have half of my collection!) you have to subscribe...They would have to be either unique (like maybe some of the Roland stuff) or substantial better sounding than non subscription products to succeed I think. Even if you just find one 'unique' plug that you want, you have to subscribe to 'everything'- too expensive for 1 or 2 useful plugs...
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Used to have Creamware synths - they were amazing - Minimax was definitely the best Moog clone I've played until the au3 Moog one, and Pro One had no parallel until Repro, but that PC died a death years ago
I'm still rocking two creamware cards in an old PC that I have fed into my current PC so I can use Pro One and 007. :)

Ive owned a UAD2 quad and a selection of plugins that i use regular for a long time now.. havent bought one in a long time yet this new spark system has enabled me to now run some of them native and at no extra cost. So thankyou UA :)

btw its obvious they'll drip feed the rest of their line over time. Looking forward to native Fatso, Distressor, Manley and Culture Vulture

I have used the UAD for a very long time (about 16 years) and I think for some plugins it is still unbeatable. But of course there is a lot of competition and the subscription is quite expensive with the very few plugins compared to other developers like Plugin Alliance.
However...with UA Connect I fail because I can't log into my account. The UA website is working. Is this a known bug on Windows?
[Edit Re-Installed and is working now]

How is the cpu usage with the UAD-2 native plugins.

I'm sure it's just the time required to port and test that's holding them back from having everything available. As they are selling a subscription the sooner the better from their perspective I would believe.

Dammit I want that organ, but not as a subscription

I guess that I'll try the 14-day demo to see what all the hype is about regarding UAD plugins.

As of today, the UADx/Spark plugins have resizable GUI's. They added 2 new plugins too (the Century Tube CS and Oxide tape).

Note: UAD DSP plugins do not have the resizable GUI's.

I got the Black Friday 3 month subscription deal for $1.

They are as good as any other plugin, but not better. I was expecting them to somehow be next level.

I’ve found them to sound very similar to IK plugins in particular.

I'm surprised there's not more chatter here about this, the more I use Polymax the more I like it, so simple the layout but sounds amazing for what it can do. Opal is nice, the moog is great too and I use it for bass exclusively it's otherwise limited for my purposes. And the organ is the best vst organ I've tried, not that I've tried a ton tbf. I might give the oxide a shot but the 2 new plugins aren't that earth shattering.

You should try IK’s Hammond B-3X then.

the hardware seems a bit pointless now, i think they should and will eventually let us buy the native plugins without hardware
